Various studies on wearable devices market have been done for decades now, mostly it was  presented as a concept model until few years back, however the IOT and AI technological advances seems to be captivating large and the consumer market in an unprecedented rate.

Wearable devices market penetration in Japan is gearing up in health care monitoring products such as bracelet type wristwatch products with a health care function (including sensors). However, there are more products popping up for consumers who do not wear wrist watches.

Mr. Maezono Yuhi, The exhibitor Director says there are seeing more interests from companies of wearable devices manufacturers and services providers to exhibit at Tokyo Wearable Device Expo, as the expo is becoming as International B2B exhibition for wearable devices and their development technologies including IoT and AR/VR technologies.

Exhibitors profiles includes Components for wearable devices, IoT technologies (M2M solutions, cloud services, etc.), Wearable devices (smart watches, smart bands, etc.), Business solutions using wearable devices (logistics/fleet management, increasing productivity, etc.).

Next expo is held during  2017/01/18 - 20 at the Venue Tokyo Bigsight has more than 170 companies as exhibitors while 70% of them are domestic companies and 30% from various other countries. Visitors profile includes Wearable device manufacturers , Wearable device buyers, Corporate users such as logistics, health-care companies, Trading agents and Retailers, etc.

The reason being Japanese consumers are actively adopting to newer products from global companies so we are seeing both B2B and B2C visitors for this expo.

As wearable terminals are to be worn on a daily basis, there is a preference to emphasize the high fashion-ability leading to Prospect of other categories , products such as rings, necklaces, clothing types and other products currently in appearance and products of various shapes introduced as concept models is evolving at high speed and form a certain market.
