ROBOTMASTER powers new robotic solutions for manufacturing at IMTS 2012

The bi-annual International Manufacturing Technology Show, IMTS 2012, closed its record breaking event at Chicago's McCormick Place on September 15, having hosted 100,200 participants from 119 countries.

The bi-annual International Manufacturing Technology Show, IMTS 2012, closed its record breaking event at Chicago's McCormick Place on September 15, having hosted 100,200 participants from 119 countries. Peter Eekman, V-P of the Association for Manufacturing Technology summed it up saying "its innovation and efficiency that's going to drive successful manufacturing". And ROBOTMASTER was present, showing how it is making this happen and enabling its partners and users to drive the evolution of robots into machining and other material removal and finishing tasks.

Kuka Robotics introduced the new KUKA.CNC control package, powered by ROBOTMASTER, allowing end-users from the CNC manufacturing world to transition seamlessly from using regular CNC machines to using robots for machining for manufacturing flexibility and efficiency. "Our partner ROBOTMASTER exceeded in the development of this to give the ability to program our robots off-line and download this information to the robot in a CNC program", said James Cooper, V-P, Kuka Robotics.

A few booths away, robot systems integrator Genesis Systems Group and waterjet cutting solution leader Flow International Corporation, featured RazorJet, their new robotic waterjet cutting cell, powered by ROBOTMASTER. Using ROBOTMASTER, they demonstrated that users can forget the time requirements and complications of robot part programming. The days of cut, measure, and adjust the cutting path are over, they proclaimed! "We chose ROBOTMASTER for their ease of programming and great support for solutions we've done", said Mike Stoeker, Genesis Development Engineer.

At the show, ROBOTMASTER and its North American distributor, In-House Solutions, unveiled ROBOTMASTER Version 6. Expanding on ROBOTMASTER's powerful optimizing tools, Version 6 sets a new standard for robot programming, introducing simulation based, off-line interaction tools that provide total user control and enhanced speed and flexibility and form a perfect complement to ROBTOMASTER's existing industry-proven automation features. Its configurable interface can be customized to support any process, providing accurate and intuitive control of all process parameters.
ROBOTMASTER continues to lead the industry in providing CAD/CAM-driven, off-line robot programming to compute complex trajectories from a CAD model and generate error-free robot control code in one integrated software solution.
