Diversified Machine Systems (DMS) Announces Fagor Automation's 8065 CNC Controller with Sophisticated Tool Path Variable Advancements (ARFS)

Colorado Springs-based 3 & 5 Axis CNC router designer & manufacturer, Diversified Machine Systems (DMS) announces the Fagor 8065 CNC Controller with Sophisticated Tool Path Variable Advancements (ARFS) by international automation partner, Fagor Automation. Fagor CNCs Controllers are standard features on most DMS machine centers.

Colorado Springs, CO January 22, 2014

Diversified Machine Systems, a leading US-based 3 & 5-axis CNC machine center designer and manufacturer in Colorado Springs, CO, announces Fagor Automation's new release of the 8065 CNC Controller with the new Adaptive Real-Time Feed & Speed Control (ARFS) feature.

Developed as a primary key to maximum machine tool performance, Fagor developed the feature called Adaptive Real-Time Feed & Speed control (ARFS) in which the CNC Controller analyzes the machining conditions such as Spindle Load, Servo Power, and Tool Tip Temperature, and automatically adapts both the axis feed rate and the spindle speed for maximum machining performance.

Fagor Automation's Marketing Manager, Todd Drane explains that "Fagor initially saw a need for this feature in Production Environments simply because it allowed us to knock precious seconds off cycle times, while also increasing valuable tool life. However, our customers are quickly finding additional Machine Tool benefits. In simplicity, the ARFS feature is easier on the machine axes of motion, particularly the Spindle."

Drane continues that one user with a heavy duty application is getting longer Spindle Bearing life since utilizing ARFS technology. In addition, customers are learning from the QC Department that part tolerances are coming in tighter.

The Fagor 8065 CNC Controller ARFS feature is closely connected with the HSSA (High Speed Surface Accuracy) which utilizes polynomial (Splines), which assists in smoothing the programmed data points while analyzing the tool path in advance, allowing for easier machine direction changes and program starts and stops.

By utilizing this feature, the mechanical stress on the machine is reduced, thus additional tool life is achieved as well as a higher machine endurance that requires less maintenance and downtime. Some users are finding faster feed rates are possible due to these advantages.

The On-Board Bode Diagram Tool allows for the measurement of the machines frequency response, thus allowing the possibility to actually filter the machine vibrations incurred by the various operating conditions and environment. Companies who incorporate Fagor Volumetric Compensation as well as this additional functionality have the best advantage to compete with unparalleled performance & accuracy with these most advanced methods.

These features require a rigorous system - the Fagor 8065 CNC Controller is built upon an Industrial Hardened PC Based Pentium design, running Windows®, allowing for block processing speeds as fast as ¼ millisecond and an Advanced Block Look Ahead that analyzes program code as much as 1000 blocks in advance.

Fagor Automation is a worldwide manufacturer of CNC Systems, Servo Motors & Drives, Feedback Systems & DRO Systems and is a strategic partner with Diversified Machine Systems (DMS). DMS delivers custom 3-Axis and 5-Axis CNC Routers that include Fagor CNC Controls as a standard offering on most CNC machines.

BitFlow Introduces 6th Generation Camera Link Frame Grabber: The Axion

BitFlow has offered a Camera Link frame grabbers for almost 15 years. This latest offering, our 6th generation combines the power of CoaXPress with the requirements of Camera Link 2.0. Enabling a single or two camera system to operate at up to 850 MB/S per camera, the Axion-CL family is the best choice for CL frame grabber. Like the Cyton-CXP frame grabber, the Axion-CL leverages features such as the new StreamSync system, a highly optimized DMA engine, and expanded I/O capabilities that provide unprecedented flexibility in routing. There are two options available; Axion 1xE & Axion 2xE. The Axion 1xE is compatible with one base, medium, full or 80-bit camera offering PoCL, Power over Camera Link, on both connectors. The Axion 2xE is compatible with two base, medium, full or 80-bit cameras offering PoCL on both connectors for both cameras. The Axion-CL is a culmination of the continuous improvements and updates BitFlow has made to Camera Link frame grabbers.
