At PaperCon 2014, April 27-30, Festo Emphasizes Higher Machine Uptime through Both Technology and Training

Festo is showcasing new technology such as an all-in-one DC servo motor/drive for fast precise motion control and a host of training options offered by Didactic, the company's training arm.

Hauppauge, NY April 22, 2014

Festo, one of the world's leading suppliers of motion actuation technology, will highlight at PaperCon 2014, April 27-30, improved productivity based on both automation products and a highly trained and motivated workforce. At the company's exhibit, attendees will find such advanced products as the all-in-one DC servo motor/drive, the MTR-ECI, and also have the opportunity to discuss state-of-the-art mechatronic training with experts from Didactic, the company's training division. (Festo Booth #910).

Festo will showcase active demonstrations and passive displays of automation for both the discrete and process industries, including pneumatic and electric motion actuation and automated valves for liquids and other media. One of the company's newest products is the MTR-ECI for a completely decentralized approach to motion control tasks. These all-in-one motor/drives are ideal for on-machine mounting and fast, precise positioning during product changeover, adjustments to conveyors, paper or foil cutting, and other servo motion applications.

Significantly less wiring is needed for these integrated motor/drives. The units only require a voltage supply and a fieldbus or multi-pin connection. The motor and drive come in a corrosion resistant package engineered for long life in industrial environments.

These new servo motor/drives support Device Net, Ethernet IP, CANopen, and Profibus network communications. Connectivity to Rockwell PLCs via DeviceNet or Ethernet IP simplifies integration within the Rockwell control architecture. Programming and commissioning are also simple via Rockwell, Siemens, or Festo software.
