Thousands of eyes were focused on the giant video boards inside the Edward Jones Dome in Saint Louis. The subject of their attention was the customized animated video series designed for the annual U.S. FIRST® World Championship. For the seventh consecutive year, visual marketing agency Pikewood Creative produced the video content for the ever-popular event.

This year's competition brought thousands of students from 38 countries to the final round. FIRST® (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology), is a national organization founded by Segway® inventor Dean Kamen. The organization holds a national robotics competition each year, pitting hundreds of teams from around the world against each other in regional and district competitions, with the hope of making it to the Championship.

Pikewood Creative is proud to be a partner with this growing endeavor. "We're thrilled to once again participate in this event," said Dan Pauley, Creative Director at Pikewood Creative. "Our videos include custom designed animated robots and visual elements which inspire not only the participants but spectators as well. It's a tremendous program for kids, and a very fulfilling project for us."

The theme of the competition changes each year, but the students' tremendous effort and the scale of the Championship events remain constant.

FIRST® was founded in 1989, and continues to grow and foster the mission of inspiring young people to be science and technology leaders.

PI USA - High Precision R-Theta Stages for Semicon, Laser Processing Apps

2-axis R-Theta motion systems are better suited to spiral motion than Cartesian XY stages. R-Theta systems often find applications in precision laser / semiconductor applications due to higher throughput, precision, and smaller size. See examples and options.
