MADISON, Wisconsin - A new online search tool established by the Control System Integrators Association (CSIA) will improve the way plant managers, directors of operations and other industry clients find control system integration companies to meet their automation needs.

The Industrial Automation Exchange, or "Exchange," as it is known, is CSIAs comprehensive online directory for locating qualified system integrators and suppliers.

"The CSIA Exchange is all about outreach," says Bob Lowe, CSIA executive director. "It allows project managers, directors of quality assurance and other decision-makers to learn about system integration, and get connected with the right people and products to implement the best automation solutions."

Lowe notes the Industrial Automation Exchange was created as a convenient way for all system integrators and industry suppliers to be more accessible to industry clients. Membership in CSIA is not required to be listed on the Exchange. The site offers detailed profiles outlining an integrators expertise, allows for potential clients to compare up to three companies in a particular industry at a time and even ask questions of Exchange members.

"The Industrial Automation Exchange is a major milestone in the 20-year history of CSIA," says PC Romano, CSIA board chairman. "It is proof positive of what CSIA has always sought to do: combine the resources of many for the advancement of all."

CSIA is a group of independent professionals made up of integrator and partner members who provide services, solutions and products to offer industry clients the best choices for control and information system integration. To learn more about the Exchange, visit www.csiaexchange.com.

Schmalz Technology Development - The Right Gripper for Every Task

In order to interact with their environment and perform the tasks, lightweight robots, like all industrial robots, depend on tools - and in many cases these are vacuum grippers. These form the interface to the workpiece and are therefore a decisive part of the overall system. With their help, the robots can pick up, move, position, process, sort, stack and deposit a wide variety of goods and components. Vacuum gripping systems allow particularly gentle handling of workpieces, a compact and space-saving system design and gripping from above. Precisely because the object does not have to be gripped, the vacuum suction cupenables gapless positioning next to each other.
