Revolve Robotics, a leading innovator in robotic telepresence, today announced this year's American Telemedicine Association conference and tradeshow, May 2nd to 5th in Los Angeles, California, will be a showcase for how straightforward it is for telehealth applications to integrate with its breakthrough Kubi; an award-winning robotic telepresence platform that serves as a revolutionary solution for telemedicine. In booth #2226, Kubi will demonstrate integration with some of the leading technology solutions, including GeriJoy, JACO, Plantronics, swyMed, and Vidyo.

Kubi, which users can experience right now by directing their Chrome or Firefox browser to this Live Kubi Demo, leverages the conferencing capabilities of today's tablets by introducing a robotic platform or cradle on which the tablet sits. The resulting telepresence robot is then "driven" by the remote video-conferencing participant. Kubi thus turns passive video conferencing callers into active participants, as remote callers use Kubi to "look around" the room and actively engage with meeting participants.

With myriad form factors sure to meet the needs of the most specific application, JACO has created the ideal mobile platform for Kubi in the form of its Kubi carts. These carts can deliver interactive video collaboration anywhere on site. It is ideal for quarantine situations, remote contact between the patient and his or her family, clinician-to-clinician contact, or clinician-to-interpreter contact.
Plantronics, a global leader in audio communications and pioneer in wearable technology used sensor fusion capabilities within its award-winning headset to essentially track where the user's head is at any given time. By delivering this information to the Kubi via WebRTC, the remote physician simply has to look at something in the remote environment to have the Kubi respond automatically by looking at that location as well. This enables the headset wearer to concentrate on the patient and/or the task at hand instead of using their keyboard or mouse to "look around" their remote environment.
