The Space Frontier Foundation's NewSpace Business Plan Competition (BPC), which awards seed money, is holding the first two of five total regional, qualifying competitions for the 2015/2016 competition cycle. The cities will each host a Shark Tank-style event whose winners will advance to the national competition in Seattle. Partners of the BPC include the Space Angels Network, OrbitalATK, Heinlein Prize Trust and the Space Finance Group.

NewSpace NYC and LightSpeed Innovations Accelerator are the New York and Los Angeles regional partners, respectively. Applicants may use the Decision Desk platform to submit entries. Applications for the Los Angeles regional competition will be accepted from October 15th, 2015 through November 15th, 2015. The finalist will be announced no later than November 23rd, 2015.

"If you have a technology or capability that could be used in space, you should enter", said Tom Olson, BPC Project Manager. "We are looking for "Space Scalable" solutions - not just satellites or space networks or space ships, though all those are welcome too! By providing a combination of education, investor feedback and seed money, the NewSpace BPC is enabling the rapid growth of the most exciting industry in human history."
