Softing releases software update for PROFIBUS Tester 5

Industrial automation provider announces immediate availability of software update for its comprehensive all-in-one diagnostic tool

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - November 19, 2015 - Softing Inc., a leading industrial automation and electronics provider, has released a new software version for its industry-leading PROFIBUS Tester 5. Version V3.12 is a free download and includes improvements to the cable test function of the PROFIBUS Tester 5.

"Today, networking companies can benefit greatly by replacing their existing collection of diagnostic tools with Softing's all-in-one tester," said Wolfgang Langer, director of marketing at Softing. "The PROFIBUS Tester 5 is a finished solution that does not require any add-ons or additional network components to produce reliable results."

PROFIBUS Tester 5 is a powerful diagnostic and troubleshooting tool for testing the cables, measuring the signals and analyzing the communications of PROFIBUS networks. Specifically designed for mobile operations, its internal battery will power the tester for up to seven hours.

"I used the PROFIBUS Tester and it identified a problem at the PLC - the connector had a faulty termination switch," said Peter Kent, vice president of engineering at VitalSensors Technologies. "The signal quality indicator of the PROFIBUS Tester software reported bad signal quality at the location of the connector. The problem was corrected within minutes and our sensor had no further problems."

PROFIBUS Tester 5's features and benefits include:

· De-facto standard for analyzing PROFIBUS networks

· Two modes of operation:

o Hand-held

o Controlled via PC software

· PROFIBUS Diagnostic Suite (PC software) included

· Easy-to-use

· Fully featured out-of-the-box:

BitFlow Introduces 6th Generation Camera Link Frame Grabber: The Axion

BitFlow has offered a Camera Link frame grabbers for almost 15 years. This latest offering, our 6th generation combines the power of CoaXPress with the requirements of Camera Link 2.0. Enabling a single or two camera system to operate at up to 850 MB/S per camera, the Axion-CL family is the best choice for CL frame grabber. Like the Cyton-CXP frame grabber, the Axion-CL leverages features such as the new StreamSync system, a highly optimized DMA engine, and expanded I/O capabilities that provide unprecedented flexibility in routing. There are two options available; Axion 1xE & Axion 2xE. The Axion 1xE is compatible with one base, medium, full or 80-bit camera offering PoCL, Power over Camera Link, on both connectors. The Axion 2xE is compatible with two base, medium, full or 80-bit cameras offering PoCL on both connectors for both cameras. The Axion-CL is a culmination of the continuous improvements and updates BitFlow has made to Camera Link frame grabbers.
