Microscan Demonstrates Inline Inspection at The ASSEMBLY Show 2016

Microscan will showcase machine vision innovations, vision-guided robotics and new products from booth #1705 at The ASSEMBLY SHOW at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL October 25-27.

Microscan, a global technology leader in barcode, machine vision, verification, and lighting solutions, announces that it will showcase a number of machine vision innovations as well as vision-guided robotics and new products throughout the conference from booth #1705 at The ASSEMBLY SHOW at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois from October 25-27. Microscan, in collaboration with its distribution partner Axis New England, will demonstrate vision-guided robotics using the Universal Robots collaborative UR3 robotic arm and Microscans MicroHAWK® imaging platform, the worlds smallest Ethernet smart camera, released this summer 2016.

The UR3 robot demo is set up to read a Data Matrix 2D code and inspect the presence and position of several components on a small engine, such as a choke lever and a fuel cap, to demonstrate how a single, flexible camera-based system can comprehensively address applications from barcode reading to complex vision inspection. This demonstration will use machine vision tools such as Locate, Presence/Absence, Optical Character Recognition (OCR), and Count to inspect a small engine for the presence of critical components.
Microscans MicroHAWK platform was chosen for this demo due to its compact size and ability to meet the widest range of needs in terms of on-board image acquisition, vision processing, and communications options. Not only are these cameras capable of high-performance barcode reading and complex vision inspection, enabling automatic identification, quality assurance and guidance applications, but they also offer unrivaled advantages in speed, size, and precision necessary for vision-enabled robotics applications. Microscans new imaging devices are the worlds smallest smart cameras and are up to twice as fast as competitive cameras in vision processing performance. In addition, MicroHAWK smart cameras feature integrated liquid lens autofocus technology for optical working distance adaptability without any manual adjustment.
With the release of AutoVISION 4.0, Microscans high-performance MicroHAWK imaging platform is now configurable for machine vision applications, with a new line of MicroHAWK MV Smart Cameras released and available for order. In three compact models (MicroHAWK MV-20, MV-30, and MV-40), each MicroHAWK camera features selectable options for sensor (WVGA, SXGA, or QSXGA), lens (standard and high-density), and integrated lighting (red or white internal and add-on LEDs). AutoVISION 4.0 also supports the integrated liquid lens autofocus capability of the new MicroHAWK MV-30 and MV-40 models for inspecting parts at various positions, distances, and sizes. Industrial, high-speed EtherNet/IP™ and PROFINET® communications protocols are supported in applications using the MV-40 model, and the new advanced communication capabilities of AutoVISION 4.0 allow MicroHAWK cameras to exchange data across different subnets, enabling users to connect to MicroHAWK cameras from anywhere in a factory or to connect a camera from a local factory to a satellite facility. AutoVISION 4.0 is supported on Windows® 7 (32- and 64-bit) and Windows® 10 operating systems.
Microscans LVS-7510 Print Quality Inspection System, which will also be on display, offers a label inspection solution that is custom-integrated with thermal printers, including leading brands such as Zebra® and Printronix®. The LVS-7510 performs real-time label inspection for thermal labels including 1D/2D barcode verification, OCR, OCV, data serialization validation, blemish detection, and more. In addition to inline inspection demos, Microscan will also demonstrate the LVS-9580 Handheld Barcode Verifier, a specialized solution for offline barcode verification to ISO/IEC barcode print quality parameters, GS1 specifications, and more.
Attendees are welcome to try Microscans all-new smart cameras in demo applications at the booth, and to meet and discuss technology with Microscan personnel. Throughout the show, Microscan experts will be present to answer tough questions about machine vision, including members of the Microscan applications and sales teams.

BitFlow Introduces 6th Generation Camera Link Frame Grabber: The Axion

BitFlow has offered a Camera Link frame grabbers for almost 15 years. This latest offering, our 6th generation combines the power of CoaXPress with the requirements of Camera Link 2.0. Enabling a single or two camera system to operate at up to 850 MB/S per camera, the Axion-CL family is the best choice for CL frame grabber. Like the Cyton-CXP frame grabber, the Axion-CL leverages features such as the new StreamSync system, a highly optimized DMA engine, and expanded I/O capabilities that provide unprecedented flexibility in routing. There are two options available; Axion 1xE & Axion 2xE. The Axion 1xE is compatible with one base, medium, full or 80-bit camera offering PoCL, Power over Camera Link, on both connectors. The Axion 2xE is compatible with two base, medium, full or 80-bit cameras offering PoCL on both connectors for both cameras. The Axion-CL is a culmination of the continuous improvements and updates BitFlow has made to Camera Link frame grabbers.
