The US Army to Announce Updates on UGV Development and Integration at Military Robotics and Autonomous USA Conference 2022

SAE Media Group reports: US Army speakers will be sharing valuable insights on this key topic at the upcoming conference in Arlington, VA, next month.

The US Army is placing an ever-greater emphasis on uncrewed systems as it seeks to improve soldier protection while also enhancing operational efficiency.

The army is working on developing and acquiring UGVs and UASs, and it intends to increase the deployment of manned-unmanned teaming (MUM-T), both on the ground and in the air. Interaction via MUM-T would also improve soldier situational awareness and lethality. *

In order to retain overmatch against all potential adversaries, this is part of the US Army's vision for the Army of 2028: "To employ modern manned and unmanned ground combat vehicles". **

For this reason, there has never been a better time than ever, to attend the Military Robotics and Autonomous Systems USA Conference, taking place in Arlington, VA, on June 20th and 21st, 2022, where delegates will have the opportunity to hear key updates on UGV development and integration from key US expert speakers.

Free attendance for US Military & DOD Personnel. To apply, please contact Tom Ter Haar at tterhaar@smi-online.co.uk. International serving military and commercial organizations can register at http://www.roboticsautonomous-usa.com/ArmadaPR.

The expert speakers and their presentations on this topic include:

• Colonel Jeffery Jurand, Project Manager Maneuver Combat Systems, PEO Ground Combat Systems, US Army Futures Command, will brief on: "Testing and Evaluation for the Next Generation of Unmanned and Optionally Manned Fighting Vehicles".
• Ms Camille Houston, Director, Virtual Test and Advanced Electronics (VTAE) Directorate, US Army Aberdeen Test Center, will brief on: "Adapting to the Evolving Testing & Evaluation Requirements for Autonomous and Unmanned Ground Systems".
• Lieutenant Colonel Keith Toney, Product Manager Robotic and Autonomous Systems, PEO Combat Support & Combat Service Support, US Army Futures Command, will brief on: "Maximizing RAS for Combat Logistics and Soldier Protection".
• Dr Chad Kessens, Senior Robotics Research Scientist, Autonomous Systems Branch, Army Research Laboratory, US Army Futures Command, will present on: "Toward Autonomous Mobile Manipulation".

The complimentary brochure featuring the full agenda and speaker line-up can be downloaded at http://www.roboticsautonomous-usa.com/ArmadaPR.

Following on from the successful inaugural virtual event in 2021, SAE Media Group are excited to finally bring the community together under one roof for the first live event of its kind in the country.

With contributions from a wide range of US ground robotics teams and strategic leaders, delegates will receive unparalleled insight and access to the US military's ground robotics research and overall strategy, as well as from international allies.
