Benefits of Collaborative Robots

It is true that a collaborative robot is designed to work without additional physical guarding like fencing. But the robot is rarely a lone component in a system.

RoboticsTomorrow - Catching up with David Sands of ST Robotics

Markets tend to fluctuate, for example we have not had much interest from the pharmaceutical world in recent years. However there has been a big increase in the use of robots for product testing.

IRobot's Colin Angle on the Home Run of Robotics (It's Not A.I.)

Robert Buderi for Xconomy: "helping people stay in their home as they age and maintain the lifestyle advantages of living at home." And that means, he says, "Were going to need a lot of robots."

Interview with Japan Roboticist and Celebrity "Hiroshi Ishiguro"

Japan is a highly Service Robots oriented Market - Three way Dialogue Systems will be in high demand in Future.

The Cyton Robotic Solution

We like to use the term train rather than program. The simplest way to train the Cyton is by using what we call assistive mode. In this mode the operator grabs onto the gripper and manually moves it where it needs to go. This information is used by the software to create a path which can be repeated or modified through an intuitive graphical interface.

Interview with Michael Walker, CMO of Bossa Nova Robotics

Consumer robotics is the next big frontier. Military, academic, and industrial robotics are thriving segments due to an abundance of financial resources and clear cut cost benefits in costs, safety and efficiency. Small businesses will start to have access to technology that was only available to larger enterprises (e.g. manufacturing, warehousing robots).

Interview With William Lovell, CEO of c-Link Systems

Non-programming users will buy and use the product because they can move or modify a picture, very intuitive. We use a graphical system on Forager for doing dry stack wall layout. I have looked at Grasshopper and will be evaluating the immediate use in the M18-Arm line for both class and commercial applications.

Interview - Wireless Assembly Line Robotics - Joseph Citrano III, of Honeywell

A robot has multiple axis, so a wireless switch is sensing position on those different axis. A Limitless™ wireless solution includes wireless switches and I/O devices that are paired and communicate with a PLC or controller interface.

Interview - Unmanned Arial Vehicle (UAV) Tech

You can pretty much give UAVs any use you want, provided that you have enough imagination and patience to see that function come alive. Some of the most common uses right now and in the future will probably be related to photography, mapping, surveillance, surveying and any other activities that might involve risking human lives.
