Automate 2026 Q&A with DESTACO

Q&A with | DESTACO

Tell us about your company.

DESTACO has been helping manufacturers automate, clamp, grip, position, and move products for more than 100 years. As part of the Stabilus Group, we provide a broad portfolio of automation, workholding, and remote handling solutions used across industries including automotive, life sciences, aerospace, consumer goods, packaging, and general industrial manufacturing.

Our mission is simple: help manufacturers improve productivity, quality, and safety through innovative automation solutions. Whether it's a clamp, gripper, tool changer, or indexer, DESTACO products are designed to keep production moving.

Your company will be exhibiting at Automate. What makes this an important event for your company?

Automate is one of the most exciting events of the year for us because it brings together innovators, engineers, machine builders, integrators, and manufacturers from around the world—all under one roof.

It's a fantastic opportunity to connect face-to-face with customers, showcase new technologies, and have meaningful conversations about the challenges manufacturers are trying to solve. Automation is evolving rapidly, and Automate gives us a chance to see where the industry is heading while sharing how DESTACO is helping drive that future.

What makes your booth a must-visit for Automate attendees?

If you're looking for practical automation solutions that can make an immediate impact on your operation, you'll want to stop by Booth 2218.

Visitors will see a wide range of DESTACO technologies in action, including robotic gripping, tool changing, workholding, and automation solutions designed to improve flexibility, simplify integration, and increase productivity.

We'll also be showcasing some of our newest electric automation technologies, including solutions that help manufacturers move away from pneumatic systems while gaining greater control, efficiency, and flexibility.

Most importantly, our team will be there to talk through real-world applications and help attendees identify solutions for their specific challenges.

When you get a chance to walk the exhibit hall floor yourself, what will you be most interested to see?

One of the best things about Automate is seeing how quickly technology continues to advance. We're always interested in new developments in robotics, machine vision, AI-driven automation, and collaborative robotics.

We're also excited to see how manufacturers are solving real-world challenges around flexibility, labor shortages, changeovers, and productivity. Some of the most valuable conversations at Automate happen when you see a new idea being applied in a practical way.

AI will, of course, be a huge topic. How is your company's products and services utilizing AI now to improve business?

AI is creating exciting opportunities across manufacturing, particularly when combined with robotics, machine vision, and automation systems.

At DESTACO, our focus is on providing the reliable end-of-arm tooling, gripping, workholding, and automation solutions that enable these advanced systems to perform effectively in real-world environments. As AI-driven robotics become more capable, the need for intelligent, flexible, and reliable tooling becomes even more important.

We're seeing increasing demand for electric grippers, flexible automation solutions, and systems that provide greater feedback and control—all areas where DESTACO continues to innovate.

Give us your thoughts on what the future holds for robotics and automation.

The future is all about flexibility.

Manufacturers are being asked to produce more product variations, adapt more quickly to market changes, and do it all while addressing workforce challenges and increasing efficiency. Robotics and automation will continue to play a critical role in helping manufacturers meet those demands.

We're also seeing greater adoption of collaborative robots, electric automation technologies, AI-assisted systems, and smarter manufacturing environments. The factories of the future will be more connected, more adaptable, and easier to reconfigure than ever before.

At DESTACO, we're excited to be part of that journey and to continue developing solutions that help manufacturers automate tomorrow.
