Automate 2026 Q&A with Roboteon

Q&A with Dan Gilmore, CMO | Roboteon

Tell us about your company.

Roboteon is a software provider that helps companies achieve success with their robotics strategies and initiatives through our Robotics Fulfillment and Orchestration platform. That platform enables companies to integrate, manage, orchestrate and optimize robotics-enabled processes in warehousing and manufacturing. The result: faster time-to-value, increased productivity and throughput, and much greater flexibility over time.

Your company will be exhibiting at Automate, what is it that makes this an important event for your company?

Big crowd, lots of attendees interested in robotics, and the chance to explain to many of them the critical role of software in reaching their goals and expectations. While many of us have attended Automate in the past, this will be our first time as an exhibitor.

What makes your booth a must visit for Automate Attendees?

At Automate Booth #19019 you’ll see our platform in action -multiple Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) and one order picking robot (Cobot) from four different vendors operating as if a single fleet, with complete interoperability. That includes advanced orchestration of order picking and materials movement task assignments. As we like to say, it’s about humans, robots and other automation working together as one. Also worth a look is our advanced simulation tool, which is used to conduct What-if analysis on warehouse and manufacturing processes, generate various KPIs, and improve decision-making at multiple time horizons.

When you get a chance to walk the exhibit hall floor yourself, what is it you will be most interested to see?  Any educational sessions, pavilions etc. you plan on attending?

Most interested in humanoid robots and the other players in the ecosystem including potential partners and competitors in the robotics software space.

AI will of course be a huge topic. Be it automation, robotics,  how is your company’s services and products utilizing AI now to improve business?

At Roboteon, we utilize multiple specialized AI/ML capabilities throughout our platform to focus on three distinct areas: rapid integration, real-time operational execution, and vision systems for specific tasks.

Rapid Integration:  Roboteon uses AI to automatically analyze and map data structures between different systems (WMS and Robotics). By automating the bulk of the manual data-matching process, the data mapper compresses integration timelines from weeks or months down to just a few days or hours.

Real-time Operational Execution: Scheduling and Release: AI engines continuously evaluate real-time floor conditions—such as varying pick rates, labor availability, and carrier cut-off times—to balance workloads dynamically across human operators and autonomous mobile robots (AMRs).

Order Clustering: The system groups orders logically by considering overlapping parameters like storage locations, SKU profiles, and order types to maximize overall travel efficiency.

Dynamic Path Optimization: Instead of following rigid, static paths, AI constantly updates routing for both robots and manual pickers based on live traffic and operational data from the floor to avoid bottlenecks.

Forecasting & Pattern Recognition: The platform uses machine learning to identify trends in historical order data, helping facility managers predict upcoming demand patterns and plan shifts accordingly. The forecasting engine also helps generate synthetic data for Greenfield simulation scenarios.

Vision Systems: Roboteon also uses AI-based vision system for automated bin-picking and cart placements to support automated fulfillment operations.

Give us your thoughts on what the future holds for robotics & automation.

We have entered the warehouse robotics era, and there is no heading back. Software will be the key success at both the strategic and project levels.
