At this year's Automate (Booth #7960) CENIT will present the latest version of FASTSUITE Edition 2, a 3D simulation platform for the highest demands in simulation accuracy and robotics offline programming. During live presentations, we will demonstrate a full mechatronics model of a spot weld automation cell connected live with a FANUC robot controller and a Programmable Logic Controller from Mitsubishi with both, controller hardware and software in the simulation loop.

This allows to debug automation control logic and PLC code as well as robot motion in a 3D virtual environment before downloading to real equipment. By simulating and validating based on real controller technology, simulation accuracy is guaranteed and hence, automation equipment installation cost and startup time being reduced significantly.

"Connecting real hardware such as robots and controllers to a 3D virtual environment is inevitable and plays an important role during the implementation of IoT based technology in manufacturing facilities. Ever increasing complexity combined with ever decreasing timing for the implementation or retrofitting of production lines make the use of IoT based technology a must. FASTSUITE Edition 2 has been designed to finally meet all requirements related to IoT and the ability to connect real controllers with our 3D simulation platform, whether logic or motion, was an important step towards the final solution. '' says Helmut Ziewers, Vice President Digital Factory Solutions, CENIT North America.

CENIT will also present its latest enhancements in offline programming, specifically for Arc and Laser Welding and other Body-in-White applications.
These are for example: Complex setups including multiple robots in coordinated motion with a workpiece positioner can now be easily programmed and accurately simulated for several robot brands. For better seam quality in Arc Welding, CENIT added algorithms to automate horizontal welding when using robots in conjunction with controlled work piece positioners.
