XPONENTIAL - UAS Magazine Announces UAS Energy In Sight Summit Co-Located at AUVSI's 2016 Xponential in New Orleans

Produced by UAS Magazine, this one-day event will highlight the connection between the energy industry and UAS technology or services

New Orleans, LA - (April 6, 2016) - UAS Magazine has announced that several major speaker presentations have been added to the agenda for the UAS Energy In Sight Summit, a one-day event co-located at the worlds largest drone event. Produced by UAS Magazine, the UAS Energy In Sight Summit, at AUVSIs Xponential, May 2-5, at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, will provide an unprecedented look at the need and opportunity for the unmanned aircraft systems industry to serve energy producers and energy infrastructure entities with aerial imagery, data and better options to perform dull, dangerous, dirty or difficult services.

"The proliferation of UAVs into the energy sector is becoming readily apparent and the presentations weve selected will reveal valuable perspective showing how UAS and energy entities are connecting today," says Luke Geiver, editor of UAS Magazine. "Our final agenda will include presentations on oil, gas, wind, pipeline, rail, solar, electricity and storage."

This week, several presentations have been added to the agenda. A UAS service provider founded by aviation experts and oil and gas veterans will reveal the challenges of serving oil and gas clients and how the San Antonio-based firm has found success to date. A unique collaboration consisting of a wind blade manufacturing R&D team, a data analytics and software developer and a UAS flight operations team will share insight on their quest—including their early success—to change the wind energy industry. And a project engineer responsible for spearheading a historic beyond visual line of sight operation last year will share what his team learned about using UAS to monitor railways.

"These presentations—and those to be announced soon—offer incredible storylines that have mostly gone untold in the greater UAS world," added Geiver.

Selected presenters will reveal the market opportunities for UAS entities looking to work with energy producers from Texas to Maine to California in the oil and gas, wind, solar or renewables space. Analysis and overviews of the size of each energy market and its potential need for UAS will be revealed, along with case studies and examples of how UAVs have already been implemented into the energy sector.

Attendees of the UAS Energy In Sight Summit also receive a complimentary one-day pass to the Xponential expo hall and can network with all of the exhibitors on the tradeshow floor.

Schmalz Technology Development - The Right Gripper for Every Task

In order to interact with their environment and perform the tasks, lightweight robots, like all industrial robots, depend on tools - and in many cases these are vacuum grippers. These form the interface to the workpiece and are therefore a decisive part of the overall system. With their help, the robots can pick up, move, position, process, sort, stack and deposit a wide variety of goods and components. Vacuum gripping systems allow particularly gentle handling of workpieces, a compact and space-saving system design and gripping from above. Precisely because the object does not have to be gripped, the vacuum suction cupenables gapless positioning next to each other.
