As A Safety Partner Of The Robotic Industries Association, Clarion Safety Systems To Participate In National Robot Safety Conference

Clarion Safety Systems will be exhibiting at the Robotic Industries Associations National Robot Safety Conference, held October 17-19 in Cincinnati, Ohio

Clarion Safety Systems, a leading designer and manufacturer of safety labels and safety signs, will be participating in the National Robot Safety Conference, taking place October 17-19 in Cincinnati, Ohio.

The National Robot Safety Conference is hosted by the Robotic Industries Association (RIA), a group that Clarion has recently begun working with to help promote best practices and share industry expertise. RIA drives innovation, growth, and safety in manufacturing and service industries through education, promotion, and advancement of robotics, related automation technologies, and companies delivering integrated solutions. Its National Robot Safety Conference will offer sessions and workshops that examine key issues in robot safety and provide an in-depth overview of current industry standards.
Clarion will be exhibiting at the show, sharing resources on todays best practices for safety label and safety sign systems.
"Our current customers in the robotics and automation industries value Clarions ANSI and ISO-compliant equipment product safety labels and facility safety signs. But we know that many safety labels and safety signs in use today are based on old, outdated standards," says Angela Lambert, Director of Sales, Marketing and Standards Compliance at Clarion.
"We hope to help promote a better understanding of the importance of using the design principles from the latest versions of the ANSI and ISO standards, as well as the value of uniformly using those best practices - whether its safety labels from component to component, or safety labels on machines working in tandem with safety signs placed nearby."
Safety labels and safety signs play a critical role in communicating safety and hazard information on products and machinery, and in workplaces. Compliant with the latest OSHA, ANSI and ISO standards, Clarions best practice safety label and safety sign systems can help to protect people from injury or death, decrease the potential for costly lawsuits and prevent issues related to non-compliance with both national and international standards.
"For almost 30 years, Clarion has been helping product manufacturers to create legally ‘adequate warnings that use the latest standards-based criteria. Now that the OSHA and ANSI standards for facility safety signs have evolved to include the same design principles that govern product safety labels, its time to update safety signs. Clarions OSHA/ANSI Z535-compliant signs take advantage of our extensive experience designing safety label systems for equipment manufacturers - and our longstanding leadership on the ANSI and ISO committees that write the national and international standards in this field."
Clarions safety label and safety sign systems are state-of-the-art; they incorporate the most advanced symbols, color-coding and formatting principles. They also focus on uniformity between the safety labels found on products and safety signs in facilities. When it comes to warnings, this consistency means familiarity and increased comprehension, all of which are part of effective safety communication.
"Robot safety is at the forefront of automation planning. We look forward to talking with engineers, robot system integrators, technicians and other manufacturing automation professionals to learn about their work and the ways Clarion expertise can help to increase safety and reduce risk. Were excited to work together to help to keep people safe from harm."

3D Vision: Ensenso B now also available as a mono version!

This compact 3D camera series combines a very short working distance, a large field of view and a high depth of field - perfect for bin picking applications. With its ability to capture multiple objects over a large area, it can help robots empty containers more efficiently. Now available from IDS Imaging Development Systems. In the color version of the Ensenso B, the stereo system is equipped with two RGB image sensors. This saves additional sensors and reduces installation space and hardware costs. Now, you can also choose your model to be equipped with two 5 MP mono sensors, achieving impressively high spatial precision. With enhanced sharpness and accuracy, you can tackle applications where absolute precision is essential. The great strength of the Ensenso B lies in the very precise detection of objects at close range. It offers a wide field of view and an impressively high depth of field. This means that the area in which an object is in focus is unusually large. At a distance of 30 centimetres between the camera and the object, the Z-accuracy is approx. 0.1 millimetres. The maximum working distance is 2 meters. This 3D camera series complies with protection class IP65/67 and is ideal for use in industrial environments.
