Geek+ Robotics Unveiled the World's First Interweaving Sorting Robot, No Warehouse Reconstruction Required

Geek Plus Robotics has launched the latest version of what it claims is "the world's first interweaving sorting robot" for warehouses, which could be an alternative to conveyor systems.

Intelligent logistics robot solution provider Geek Plus Robotics announced that their latest generation of interweaving sorting system S20 is available to global market as an innovative and cost-effective tool to increase parcel sortation efficiency in warehouse distribution center.

According to Geek Plus team, this system has been already operating in one of Chinas most influential e-commerce companies distribution center and have increased the efficiency significantly. Since launched in Dec. 2017, a fleet of 200 units of S20 robot has been taking sorting tasks 24/7 while achieving a benchmark of 10,000 pcs/hour.

Unlike traditional cross-belt sorter and regular robot sorting system, Geek Plus S20 is designed to be highly flexible and ease-of-use, warehouse reconstruction or two-tier steel platform structure is no longer necessary, so there will be a big saving on time and cost. With highly standardization and fast implementation, it usually takes 20 days to complete the entire system, including robots and software part. Apart from that, their independently-developed Robot Management System enabled by AI and machine-learning technology, leverages strong algorithm and flexible system scheduling to figure out the most effective path and minimize convergence.

" In the entire process of supply chain in e-commerce and express industry, parcel sortation is always a major step. Driven by increasingly demand on fast delivery from the customers end, many e-commerce companies chose to deploy robot sorting system and have benefited from logistics automation. In the near future, Geek Plus Robotics will release more robotics solutions for warehousing and logistics such as self-driving forklift, updated version of SLAM navigation Moving Robot, mechanical arms for Geek Picking System, covering every step in the supply chain. We have strong faith that real unmanned warehouse will finally come true soon." commented LiT Fung, General Manager of Geek Plus Hong Kong.

About Geek+ Robotics
Geek+ is well-funded (it has raised $61.5 million), has 300 employees, and provides one-stop AI and robotic solutions to enhance efficiency for users in logistics and warehouse management. Geek+ attempts to simplify steps in order fulfillment, material handling, and sorting using AI and robotics to reduce labor, optimize parcel consolidation and the picking process, and manage fleets of robots.
Geek+ has over 50 successful cases and 3,000+ robots working in some well-known enterprise warehouses. Geek+ is building a new manufacturing facility which they expect to come online mid-Summer. This will enable them to increase production from the current run rate of ~4,000 per year to ~10,000 per year.
