In 2013, the USB Organization presented a single connector platform model- USB 3.1 Standard, the "one cable solution." As the name suggests, this model envisions a single connecting cable between diverse implements- power, storage, keyboards, and network, among others. On the heels of this USB 3.1 Standard announcement comes the USB Type C cable, "the connector of the future."

Featuring a whopping 10 Gbps data speed and 100W current carrying potential to eliminate the need for external power supplies, the USB Type C represents a milestone step in connectivity innovation.
