WEGA × Multiway Robotics | Automated Pallet Trucks Enable Smart Intralogistics Upgrade at Automotive Parts Plant
With the continuous expansion of its business, WEGA began to face increasing challenges in handling high-frequency heavy-load material flows, operating within limited aisle space, and coordinating logistics with production lines.
As manufacturing continues to advance toward greater automation and digitalization, automotive parts manufacturers are placing higher demands on factory intralogistics in terms of efficiency, system coordination, and operational safety. WEGA, a well-established automotive filtration system manufacturer with strong recognition in the Americas market, has long focused on the development and production of automotive components. With the continuous expansion of its business, WEGA began to face increasing challenges in handling high-frequency heavy-load material flows, operating within limited aisle space, and coordinating logistics with production lines.
To address these requirements, Multiway Robotics deployed a smart intralogistics solution for WEGA, introducing the X20 Automated Pallet Truck along with its proprietary software platform to comprehensively upgrade the plant's internal logistics operations.
In this project, the MW-X20 Automated Pallet Truck serves as the core material handling equipment, responsible for pallet transportation between production areas and warehouse zones. With a rated load capacity of 2,000 kg, the vehicle reliably supports heavy-load material handling scenarios commonly found in the automotive parts industry. Its autonomous navigation system ensures stable operation in complex aisle environments, while the compact vehicle design allows efficient movement within space-constrained factory layouts. In addition, the X20 supports 24/7 continuous operation, meeting the high-frequency demands of industrial production schedules.
At the system level, the project enables deep integration across the entire intralogistics workflow through coordinated software systems. Integration with the existing WMS allows refined location management and real-time visibility of material flows and inventory status. The RCS scheduling system centrally coordinates multiple Automated Pallet Trucks, intelligently planning routes to improve operational efficiency in complex environments. Meanwhile, the WCS connects with on-site equipment such as automatic doors and elevators, creating a fully automated logistics process. Through multi-system collaboration, WEGA's intralogistics operations have evolved from a fragmented workflow into a more stable, efficient, and controllable automated system.
"This is a very important step for WEGA and for our industrial plant," stated Rafael Rodrigues Neto, President and Founder of the company, noting that the project had been under evaluation for more than three years. "We are now seeing tangible results, with significant improvements in internal logistics and a much safer, more efficient operation."
