Waymo, NVIDIA, Tesla and More Join A3’s Advanced Vision & AI Conference

Two-day Santa Clara conference brings together leading experts to share practical strategies for deploying machine vision, industrial AI, and intelligent automation

The Association for Advancing Automation (A3) today announced the speaker lineup and agenda for its Advanced Vision & AI Conference, September 23-24, 2026, in Santa Clara, California. Featuring experts from Waymo, NVIDIA, Tesla, Intrinsic, GE Vernova, Intel, FANUC, Cognex, Siemens Digital Industries, and more, the two-day conference will focus on how vision and AI technologies are being deployed across manufacturing and other industrial environments.

Registration is open at https://www.automate.org/events/advanced-vision-and-ai-conference.

The conference comes as demand for advanced vision technologies continues to grow. North American machine vision transactions reached $789 million in the first quarter of 2026, up 6.8% year over year, according to A3 Market Intelligence.

"Companies are moving quickly to figure out where vision and AI can improve quality, flexibility, and productivity," said Jeff Burnstein, president of A3. "This conference brings together people who are actively building and deploying these systems so attendees can learn from real applications, technical challenges, and results."

From AI Models to Real-World Deployment

The Advanced Vision & AI Conference features dedicated business and technical tracks covering AI strategy and ROI, machine vision deployment, AI-enabled inspection, edge AI and security, robotics perception, foundation models, governance, autonomy, and more.

Featured sessions include:

Waymo: Vincent Vanhoucke, Distinguished Engineer, on multimodal perception and generative sensor simulation for safe autonomy
NVIDIA: Alvin Clark, Global Developer Relations Manager for Industrial and Manufacturing, on using synthetic data to accelerate AI quality models
Intrinsic: Torsten Kroeger, Chief Science Officer, on generalized and specialized AI models for robotics and automation
Tesla: Sparsh Gautam, Computer Vision Engineer, on sensor calibration and physical drift in real-world vision systems
GE Vernova: Jaron Kuppers, Technology Manager for Robotics & Computer Vision, on intelligent industrial inspection and physical AI
Additional sessions from Intel, FANUC, Cognex, Teledyne, Omron Automation Americas, MathWorks, 3M, and others will examine applications ranging from self-learning inspection and vision-guided robotics to edge AI security and scalable factory automation.

Attendees will also have opportunities to connect with speakers, technology providers, and peers through exhibits, networking, and a reception.

Registration is now open. A3 members receive discounted pricing, and discounts are also available for verified educators and students. Visit https://www.automate.org/events/advanced-vision-and-ai-conference for the full agenda and registration information.

US Digital's New L2 Low Profile Motor Encoder

US Digital's New L2 Low Profile Motor Encoder

The L2 incremental encoder uses US Digital's proven EM1 optical encoder module and disk, which has billions of device-hours of dependable service in customer applications. This product continues US Digital's strong reputation for reliable, field-tested encoders. The L2 is US Digital's lowest height encoder that uses the EM1 module. It has a 0.75 in. bolt-spacing mount. The maximum resolution is 1250 CPR (5000 PPR with quadrature). The L2 comes with a single-ended output. Another benefit of the L2 incremental encoder is its fast installation. The cover snaps onto the base to secure the module. It is designed for use with a high-retention connector or cable (sold separately). Like all US Digital products, the L2 is designed and manufactured in Vancouver, Washington, USA. It is backed by prompt access to our technical and customer service teams with same-day shipping on most orders.
