Brush Research Manufacturing (BRM), makers of the Flex-Hone® tool and a full line of industrial brushes, is announcing the new NamPowerâ„¢ Resource Guide for manufacturers who want to automate surface finishing, deburring, and edge radiusing operations. NamPowerâ„¢ brushing tools are high-performance industrial brushes used in high-volume applications such as appliance manufacturing.

Available on the BRM website, the NamPowerâ„¢ Resource Guide spans seven full-color pages and explains how to choose and use NamPowerâ„¢ abrasive disc brushes and NamPowerâ„¢ composite hub wheel brushes. This free technical book is also available in print.

NamPowerâ„¢ Abrasive Disc Brushes

NamPowerâ„¢ abrasive disc brushes are easily integrated into automated machinery, CNC machining centers, transfer lines, and robotic cells. Made with flexible nylon filaments with ceramic and silicon carbide abrasive, these high-performance abrasive brushes provide maximum burr removal rates and produce an optimum surface finish at the same time.

BRM offers two types of NamPowerâ„¢ abrasive disc brushes (dot and turbine) in three sizes (100, 125, and 150 mm), two trim lengths (18 and 38 mm), and with four grit choices (80, 120, 180, and 320). The NamPowerâ„¢ Resource Guide explains which type of brush to select, and how to evaluate selection and usage criteria such as trim length and grit. Operational parameters such as speed are also considered.

NamPowerâ„¢ Composite Hub Wheel Brushes

NamPowerâ„¢ composite hub wheel brushes are abrasive nylon brushing tools for machine-based and off-hand deburring, surface finishing, and edge radiusing operations. An alternative to wire wheels and non-woven abrasive brushes, NamPowerâ„¢ radial wheel brushes feature indestructible cores with higher filament density and a balanced construction.

BRM offers NamPowerâ„¢ composite hub wheel in two sizes (6-inch and 8-inch diameters). As the new NamPowerâ„¢ Resource Guide explains, grit selection is also an important parameter to consider. Other product specifications for these radial wheel brushes include face width, cut depth, feed rate, and arbor adaptors.

3D Vision: Ensenso B now also available as a mono version!

This compact 3D camera series combines a very short working distance, a large field of view and a high depth of field - perfect for bin picking applications. With its ability to capture multiple objects over a large area, it can help robots empty containers more efficiently. Now available from IDS Imaging Development Systems. In the color version of the Ensenso B, the stereo system is equipped with two RGB image sensors. This saves additional sensors and reduces installation space and hardware costs. Now, you can also choose your model to be equipped with two 5 MP mono sensors, achieving impressively high spatial precision. With enhanced sharpness and accuracy, you can tackle applications where absolute precision is essential. The great strength of the Ensenso B lies in the very precise detection of objects at close range. It offers a wide field of view and an impressively high depth of field. This means that the area in which an object is in focus is unusually large. At a distance of 30 centimetres between the camera and the object, the Z-accuracy is approx. 0.1 millimetres. The maximum working distance is 2 meters. This 3D camera series complies with protection class IP65/67 and is ideal for use in industrial environments.
