Robotics Expert Shares Solutions for American Labor Market Shortages

Steve Reinharz, founder and CEO of Robotic Assistance Devices, predicts a Fourth Industrial Revolution propelled by new technologies is the future of industry

FERNDALE, Mich. - November 30, 2021 - There is an inevitability to the use of autonomous remote services (ARS), commonly known as robotics, by industries currently bound by personnel that will help ease labor shortages, according to Steve Reinharz, founder and CEO of Robotic Assistance Devices (RAD).

What Reinharz calls the Fourth Industrial Revolution will affect every business sector and include the convergence of IoT, artificial intelligence with machine learning, robotics, high-speed data streaming and a slew of other technologies.

"Those organizations and their offerings, which are unwilling to aggressively think outside the box, to educate themselves about new technologies and resources, and devise better ways to serve their customers in these changing and demanding times, will soon be white elephants," Reinharz says.

ARS, says Reinharz, can autonomously and remotely support the full spectrum of technologies needed to provide robust security, facility, concierge and health screening, and other services. ARS is the logical, if not natural, next phase in industrial evolution, he says.

Continuing, he says ARS represents a wholesale business transformation of industries dependent on personnel. It's a pure, Fourth Industrial Revolution application of how businesses should be thinking about the best ways to deliver engineering solutions from the ground up.

Robotic devices already deliver food, take care of the elderly, perform cleaning services, serve as cashiers and provide customer help and support.

Reinharz says in addition to helping address manpower shortages, robotics and artificial intelligence-based hardware and software solutions will empower organizations to gain new insight, solve complex challenges and fuel new business ideas at a reduced cost.

"Never, in our lifetimes, have we seen the entire world change course, in so many ways, so quickly. As we seek solutions on a multitude of dimensions in light of unprecedented challenges, few are as obviously ‘right' as automated robotic services," Reinharz says.

BitFlow Introduces 6th Generation Camera Link Frame Grabber: The Axion

BitFlow has offered a Camera Link frame grabbers for almost 15 years. This latest offering, our 6th generation combines the power of CoaXPress with the requirements of Camera Link 2.0. Enabling a single or two camera system to operate at up to 850 MB/S per camera, the Axion-CL family is the best choice for CL frame grabber. Like the Cyton-CXP frame grabber, the Axion-CL leverages features such as the new StreamSync system, a highly optimized DMA engine, and expanded I/O capabilities that provide unprecedented flexibility in routing. There are two options available; Axion 1xE & Axion 2xE. The Axion 1xE is compatible with one base, medium, full or 80-bit camera offering PoCL, Power over Camera Link, on both connectors. The Axion 2xE is compatible with two base, medium, full or 80-bit cameras offering PoCL on both connectors for both cameras. The Axion-CL is a culmination of the continuous improvements and updates BitFlow has made to Camera Link frame grabbers.
