Compliance In Motion - An Automotive Parts Application

Even 1 mm of misalignment between the robots end of arm tool and the position of the parts in the table could cause costly damage.

Six Advantages of Ethernet for Auto ID Readers

Ethernet cabling has been standardized. The cables for an Ethernet-enabled Auto ID reader are common with all standard Ethernet equipment.

Closed Loop Current Transducer Characteristics

A properly selected current transducer for an application can easily give 25+ years of service. By acknowledging the details behind the data sheet, better performing applications and more robust designs are possible.

Microscan Imagers Ensure 2D Code Readability During Manufacturing of Miniature Identifiers

Bridging the gap between ease of use and performance, the QX Hawk features a high resolution modular optical zoom system, aggressive X-Mode decoding, and simple plug and play connectivity.

ASIC Based Current Transducers

The implementation of ASIC based current transducers opens up functionality that the traditional discrete component transducers could never achieve.

After 5,000 Years, Automation Finds Its Way Into The "Lost Wax Process"

With home-grown innovation and ABB robots, MPI, Inc. has discovered the secret to incredible increases in productivity and quality for today's most competitive foundries.

Case Study: Machine Vision System Detects Defective Parts for Precision Stampings Supplier

Dimensional measurement is an essential step in the manufacture of Hexins stamped parts in order to ensure that each workpiece meets required tolerances.

Case Study: Alignment Device With On-center And Off-center Locking

The KA device's ability to lock to center and also off center is critical to this application. That ability, coupled with the devices reliability and repeatability, makes for a great solution in this application.

Machine Vision System Detects Defective Parts for Precision Stampings Supplier

With production rates of 3,200 pieces per hour for a single production line and an acceptance rate of virtually 100% required by mobile phone and hard drive manufacturers (one defective piece per 120,000), 100% inspection of the components is necessary to ensure that all orders will be accepted by the end customer.

Food Processing Without The Human Touch

Robotic sensory technology is now able to act in the same manner that a person does, adapting to the food manufacturing environment and utilizing vast amounts of information to give us some of the safest food in the world.

Case Study: Marathon Special Products; Plastic Deflashing Automation System

The system keeps up with their presses, provides a consistent finish, and alleviates their operators even from having to select the right part program.

Measurable Energy Savings in Die Casting Automation

Experience shows that it is not the robots that are the biggest energy consumers, but the entire peripheral equipment.

Survey of Control System Integrators

Nearly all automation vendors rely on system integrator partners to take some percentage of their hardware and software products to market in the form of completely functional systems.

Curvilinear Motion Guides and Actuated Rotary Systems

Designing curvilinear guide or actuator systems can be more difficult than designing linear ones. However, installing such systems can improve payload transportation and handling simplicity and efficiency.

Cable Wire Protection Systems

Cable Wire Protection is often just an afterthought in robotic work cells. After the end-of-arm tooling is selected, the programming is done and safety mechanisms are installed, the last thought is usually the cabling.

BitFlow Introduces 6th Generation Camera Link Frame Grabber: The Axion

BitFlow Introduces 6th Generation Camera Link Frame Grabber: The Axion

BitFlow has offered a Camera Link frame grabbers for almost 15 years. This latest offering, our 6th generation combines the power of CoaXPress with the requirements of Camera Link 2.0. Enabling a single or two camera system to operate at up to 850 MB/S per camera, the Axion-CL family is the best choice for CL frame grabber. Like the Cyton-CXP frame grabber, the Axion-CL leverages features such as the new StreamSync system, a highly optimized DMA engine, and expanded I/O capabilities that provide unprecedented flexibility in routing. There are two options available; Axion 1xE & Axion 2xE. The Axion 1xE is compatible with one base, medium, full or 80-bit camera offering PoCL, Power over Camera Link, on both connectors. The Axion 2xE is compatible with two base, medium, full or 80-bit cameras offering PoCL on both connectors for both cameras. The Axion-CL is a culmination of the continuous improvements and updates BitFlow has made to Camera Link frame grabbers.
