Vecow introduces EC-5500 Fanless Embedded Controller

Vecow introduces EC-5500 Fanless Embedded Controller with Intel Core i7, i5, i3, and Celeron Sandy Bridge mobile series processors.

Vecow introduces EC-5500 Fanless Embedded Controller with Intel Core i7, i5, i3, and Celeron Sandy Bridge mobile series processors. It has 5 GbE LANs, DVI-D/HDMI and VGA dual display, CFast, SUMIT A, B, and two 2.5" SATA 6Gp/s HDD/SSDs, and 2 eSATA ports, plus with superior fanless thermal and housing structure enables systems operating under -20ºC to +70ºC. Designed for harsh operation environment, wide vibration and shocks resistances, and high flexibility of card expansion, EC-5500 Series suits for a broad range of embedded applications, including security and surveillance solutions, digital signage, industrial automation, machine automation, in-vehicle platforms, and intelligent transportation systems.

The Intel Core processors offer embedded designers a number of important upgrades including multiple CPU cores, an integrated graphics processor, an extended instruction set, Intel Turbo Boost Technology, and remote management support. Backed by Hyper-Threading and Virtualization technology of Intel, Sandy Bridge processors have maximum four cores and eight threads that enhance the multitasking ability. This scalable architecture can be optimized for individual embedded applications and provides performance, I/O, thermal conductivity and power use enhancements. 2nd Gen integrates QM67 graphics subsystem and with EC-5500 dual video out ports (DVI-D/HDMI and VGA), when the task is graphics intensive, EC-5500 series can provide winged fast performance and HD-quality output. A number of Intel technologies supports speedy platform control, high resolution multi-display graphic, and advanced security possibility.

Overcoming the memory bottleneck, EC-5500 series supports dual channel SO-DIMM DDR3 1333/1066MHz up to 16GB for boosting system performance. To designate a wide range of applications, EC-5500 series feature with variety I/O and interfaces. Including 6 USB, maximum 5 RJ-45 Gigabit Ethernet ports, CFast, 2 eSATA, 2 mini-PCIe, DC-Jack Connector, 3 RS-232 and 1 RS-232/485/422, 8 in/out GPIO, and 2 SATA III (6Gb/s) 2.5" HDD/SSD connectors, EC-5500 can be the answer to the almost every embedded system applications. In order to satisfy diverse requirements of in-vehicle and industrial markets, EC-5500 series are constructed with wide DC input range from 6 to 36 voltages to ensure system stability and safety. Specifically designed for flexible data storage and security, EC-5500-3R/5R series equipped with 2 front-panel access SATA III (6Gb/s) 2.5" removable HDD/SSD trays with key lock. For different application, Vecow also provide Isolated DIO and SUMIT A, B enable better power supply protection and various I/O adoptions to select.

Integrated all outstanding features, the new EC-5500 series are ideal solutions for various applications, for example, in-vehicle surveillance, factory/machine automation, medicine and healthcare, digital signage and environment monitoring.
