QinetiQ North America's TALON® Robot Selected by Czech and Polish Militaries
World-renowned robot expands international presence into Central Europe
Reston, VA- QinetiQ North America (QNA) today announced that $8.4M in orders have been received for TALON® robots from the Czech Republic and Poland to provide explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) mission support to their military forces.
"TALON robots are world class lifesavers that distance warfighters from the dangers they face. The average TALON robot is blown up thirteen times in its lifetime, repaired and returned to action. With more than 3,000 of these life-saving robots in theater today, TALON continues to be the robot of choice for EOD missions both domestically and internationally," said QNA's Technology Solutions Group President J.D. Crouch.
The $8.4M in orders includes $1.6M from the Czech Republic and $6.8M from Poland, facilitated by the U.S. Navy. In addition to these new orders, QNA recently completed training with the Romanian Army on the use of their new TALON robots. The TALON robot has earned a worldwide reputation for durability, flexibility, modularity and performance in keeping personnel, assets and civilians out of harm's way. TALON helps warfighters identify unseen threats to improve mission security and increase safety.
QNA has delivered thousands of unmanned ground vehicles to security and defense forces worldwide. From the rugged TALON® and Dragon Runner™ robots to the Spartacus™ and Raider™ unmanned vehicles, QNA offers a full range of durable, reliable and flexible unmanned systems from 10 to 12,500 pounds. QNA's family of robots includes small, medium and large unmanned vehicles that can be configured for specific tasks such as IED defeat, CBRNE/hazmat detection and identification, reconnaissance, combat engineering, materiel delivery and SWAT/MP unit assistance. Whether the mission is to support a bomb squad protecting life and property in an urban environment or a dismounted warfighter assessing threats, QNA delivers.
