FANUC America Highlights Oakland Community College's Robotics and Automation Program in New Video

New YouTube video about Oakland Community College's (OCC) Robotics and Automation Program

ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich.--FANUC America Corporation released a new YouTube video about Oakland Community College's (OCC) Robotics and Automation Program. OCC is the largest community college in Michigan and has offered a robotics and automation curriculum for 30 years.

"OCC provides students a thorough understanding of robotic systems," said John Sefcovic, OCC faculty, Robotics and Automation. "Robotics training is part of the STEM process in that it encourages students to embrace science, technology, engineering and math to prepare them for an advanced career."

Graduates of the OCC program receive industry-recognized certification which, according to Sefcovic, let's potential employers know that these students are fully prepared with the necessary skills to work with robots and automation.

"I believe OCC sets the model for robotic and automation training programs," said Sefcovic. "It's not just the technology itself, but how the technology fits into the larger picture."

"Our education programs are aligned with STEM initiatives to support technical education and career paths," said Paul Aiello, regional manager, FANUC Certified Education Robot Training (CERT). "We collaborate with industry and education to encourage the development of innovative curriculums based on today's industry needs. Companies committed to working with CERT training programs are then able to hire locally trained students that have advanced automation skills."
