Deer Park, NY April 30, 2014

Sony's Visual Imaging Solution division and Phase 1 Technology, a leading distributor in the vision industry for more than 25 years, will co-sponsor a series of product demonstrations introducing Sony's latest family of HD and SD block cameras at AUVSI's Unmanned Systems 2014 Conference on May 13th through 15th at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida.

The demonstrations of Sony's newest and most technically advanced block cameras will be a key highlight of the conference.

General sessions will provide access to a comprehensive collection of cameras for UAV, UGV, as well as Unmanned Surface and Underwater Vehicles. These sessions will occur two times per day and have limited seating. Key Sony personnel will be on hand to unveil and explain the newest additions to Sony's family of HD and SD block cameras including the following models:

*FCB-EX2700, a block camera with 40x optical zoom, image stabilization and a 90 db wide dynamic range (WDR)

*FCB-EV7300 and FCB-EV7500 featuring digital noise reduction which produces 1080p60 video

*FCB-MA130 a compact (16.5 x 10.3 x 18.0 mm) device that produces 1080p30 video and 13 megapixel still images

During these sessions Sony will also share its comprehensive "roadmap for the future," a long-term plan for continued innovation in its compact zoom camera segment.

In addition to the general sessions, Sony will make its Technical Staff available for focused, one-on-one sessions with qualified applicants. The number of available sessions, each of which will feature customer specific discussions of Sony camera features, applications and design integration protocols, is extremely limited.

Nion: Next-level time-of-flight

The new Nion 3D camera advances Time-of-Flight (ToF) technology with exceptional resolution, speed, and industrial robustness. Designed for demanding applications such as logistics, warehousing, industrial automation, and robotics, Nion delivers high-resolution depth data with real-time performance for faster, safer, and more flexible operations. At its core is the 1.2-megapixel Time-of-Flight sensor AF0130 from onsemi's Hyperlux ID family, offering up to four times the resolution of conventional VGA-based ToF cameras and significantly higher data density. Active 940-nm laser illumination ensures accurate and stable measurements in low-light conditions, artificial lighting, and even direct sunlight. With an IP67-rated housing, Nion is built for reliable operation in dusty, wet, and thermally challenging industrial environments. A user-friendly API with IDS peak support and compliance with the GigE Vision standard enable fast integration and flexible deployment in high-resolution 3D applications. The Nion 3D camera is now available from IDS Imaging Development Systems.
