MICROMO Introduces The most compact 3‐channel encoder of its class!

The most compact 3‐channel encoder of its class!

Integrated encoder IEH3‐4096 from FAULHABER offers more functionality in a very small

The new IEH3‐4096 series from FAULHABER is the most compact 3‐channel encoder of its class. The new model delivers two square‐wave signals as well as an additional index channel. It offers a higher resolution, an extended operating temperature range and improved speed control, especially in the low speed range. The encoder increases the length of the motor by just 1.4 mm and can be combined with numerous precious‐metal commutated DC‐micromotors of the FAULHABER SR series measuring 15 to 22 mm in diameter. Since they are used in extremely small machines and assemblies, size is a decisive factor.

Thanks to the thermally robust single‐chip Hall module used in the IEH3‐4096, it was possible to extend the operating temperature range considerably to ‐40 to +100 °C. The resolution of up to 4096 pulses per revolution results in improved control dynamics. The model also offers improved speed control, particularly at low speeds. Other pulse counts are also available. Despite numerous technical developments, the IEH3‐4096 remains mechanically compatible with its predecessor models.

The IEH3‐4096 integrated encoder can be used in application areas including, among others: in equipment technology, such as in measurement devices, for valve adjustment, in camera technology, and in precision optics, for example for mirror positioning or lens or filter adjustment. These application areas are characterised by sophisticated engineering in which the individual components cannot occupy much space. The IEH3‐4096 integrated encoder uniquely satisfies these requirements.

Unlike encoders with a separate add‐on housing that require much more space, the IEH3‐4096 increases the length of the motor by just 1.4 mm. "The IEH3‐4096 therefore combines more functionality and improved technical features in the smallest possible space", says product manager Volker Hausladen.

Dynatect Automated Machine Safety Roll-Up Doors

Need to increase safety? Are you using light curtains? Is space a concern? Dynatect's Gortite® VF Automated Machine Safety Door combines safety technology, speed, and a physical barrier to isolate hazardous operations. Use of a physical barrier with safety sensors can save up to 30 square feet of manufacturing space. Using the ANSI minimum safety distance formula, the Gortite® VF Door limits the depth penetration factor and average approach speed, allowing closer location of the safeguarding device. Unlike light curtains, which can't contain process hazards, an automated machine safety door can isolate common workplace debris. This physical barrier is designed to contain process driven hazards such as weld sparks, UV flash, and light debris. Thus, the operator can maintain closer proximity to the work area improving ergonomics and productivity.
