ADLINK Debuts Intelligent IoT Gateway Starter Kit Based on Intel® IoT Gateway

The starter kit, including ADLINKs EdgePro IoT device & sensor management utility, provides a complete IoT connection solution for accelerated IoT application development

San Francisco, CA August 18, 2015

ADLINK Technology, Inc., a leading global provider of cloud-based services, intelligent gateways, and embedded building blocks enabling the Internet of Things (IoT), today announced the release of its new intelligent IoT Gateway Starter Kit. The IoT Gateway Starter Kit combines ADLINKs MXE-202i intelligent IoT gateway based on Intel Atom E3826 processors, ADLINKs EdgePro IoT device & sensor management application, one light sensor and corresponding siren output, Modbus TCP module, and accessories, all utilizing industrial open standard protocols with security functions powered by the Intel IoT Gateway. ADLINKs IoT Gateway Starter Kit simplifies device-cloud connection, accelerates IoT application development, and speeds deployment for a wide variety of application environments, such as industrial automation, smart buildings, smart parking systems, and agriculture. Come take a closer look at the new intelligent IoT Gateway Starter Kit in ADLINKs booth #116 this week during IDF15 from August 18 - 20 at Moscone Center West in San Francisco, CA.

The ADLINK EdgePro IoT device & sensor management application runs on the Intel IoT Gateway, integrating the Wind River Intelligent Device Platform (IDP) XT and McAfee Embedded Control to provide complete, pre-validated communication and security. EdgePro enables device and sensor management via plug-in(s) for field protocols including ZigBee (Home Automation Profile) and the commonly adopted fieldbus Modbus TCP for industrial automation, all easily configured with sensors or I/O nodes. Interaction across devices/sensors is accomplished by an Event Execution Engine, and a user-friendly web-based dashboard allows remote monitoring of status and actuator control with RESTFul web-service APIs. In addition, EdgePro enables simple configuration of reliable and secure connectivity with Amazon and Windows Azure Cloud.

"ADLINK understands that customers require readily available solutions," said Roy Wan, GM of ADLINKs Measurement & Automation Product Segment. "In addition to providing a powerful IoT gateway platform in an ultra-compact enclosure, ADLINK further provides a complete IoT connection solution with our intelligent IoT Gateway Starter Kit, enabling fast deployment and accelerating IoT application development to further increase business value for customers."

ADLINKs Matrix MXE-202i series embedded IoT Gateway Platform is based on the Intel® Atom SoC processor E3826, with industrial-grade construction meeting a wide variety of specific industrial needs. The MXE-202i presents a sturdy aluminum housing withstanding industrial grade EMI/EMS to an EN 61000-6-4, 61000-6-2 specification, and is fully operable under even harsh conditions with operating shock tolerance up to 100 G and an optional extended -20°C to 70°C operating temperature range.

The MXE-202i provides two GbE LAN, two COM, two USB 2.0 and one USB 3.0 host ports, four optional isolated DI and four isolated DO, dual mini PCIe slots with one mSATA support, and USIM socket support communication with connections such as WiFi, Bluetooth, and 3G cellular to ensure interoperability between systems and maximize industrial connectivity to meet most application requirements.

The MXE-202i also includes ADLINKs proprietary SEMA (Smart Embedded Management Agent) application for quick setup of remote device management and analysis through ADLINKs SEMA Cloud, enabling monitoring and collection of system health and status information from the hardware in a timely, flexible, and precise manner.

The ADLINK IoT gateway MXE-101i, based on Intel Quark SoC X1021, is also available.

Schmalz Technology Development - The Right Gripper for Every Task

In order to interact with their environment and perform the tasks, lightweight robots, like all industrial robots, depend on tools - and in many cases these are vacuum grippers. These form the interface to the workpiece and are therefore a decisive part of the overall system. With their help, the robots can pick up, move, position, process, sort, stack and deposit a wide variety of goods and components. Vacuum gripping systems allow particularly gentle handling of workpieces, a compact and space-saving system design and gripping from above. Precisely because the object does not have to be gripped, the vacuum suction cupenables gapless positioning next to each other.
