“YuMi will provide manufacturers with an inherently safe, extremely accurate, and flexible automated solution for small parts assembly.”

Greenville, Wisconsin - October 13, 2014 - QComp Technologies, Inc. today announced that it has been selected as an authorized integrator of ABB Robotic's new YuMi dual-arm collaborative robot. The company, that recently celebrated its 25th year anniversary as a premier automation integrator in the U.S. specializing in material handling automation solutions, will be one of a select few integrators that will help end users integrate the robot into their small parts assembly applications.

"We are very excited to be teaming up with ABB and their amazing YuMi robot which is the first truly collaborative dual-armed robot designed for a world in which humans and robots work together," said Tom Doyle, President of QComp Technologies. "YuMi will provide manufacturers with an inherently safe, extremely accurate, and flexible automated solution for small parts assembly."

The YuMi robot was intentionally designed to resemble its human counterparts in a friendly, non-threatening way featuring a compact, dual-arm body that requires no more space than a human workstation. The robot is the size of a human torso and features a built-in controller, 14 axis of motion, 1500mm/second speed, 500mm reach, 500g payload, and standard tooling options. Its dual-arm capability allows the robot to multi-task processing 2 tasks at the same time. BitFlow Introduces 6th Generation Camera Link Frame Grabber: The Axion

BitFlow has offered a Camera Link frame grabbers for almost 15 years. This latest offering, our 6th generation combines the power of CoaXPress with the requirements of Camera Link 2.0. Enabling a single or two camera system to operate at up to 850 MB/S per camera, the Axion-CL family is the best choice for CL frame grabber. Like the Cyton-CXP frame grabber, the Axion-CL leverages features such as the new StreamSync system, a highly optimized DMA engine, and expanded I/O capabilities that provide unprecedented flexibility in routing. There are two options available; Axion 1xE & Axion 2xE. The Axion 1xE is compatible with one base, medium, full or 80-bit camera offering PoCL, Power over Camera Link, on both connectors. The Axion 2xE is compatible with two base, medium, full or 80-bit cameras offering PoCL on both connectors for both cameras. The Axion-CL is a culmination of the continuous improvements and updates BitFlow has made to Camera Link frame grabbers.
