ABB announces 2016 North American Robotics Value Provider Award winners

Awards recognize select Value Providers for innovation, outstanding performance and leadership

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (July 19, 2016) - ABB, the global power and automation technology group, is pleased to announce the 2016 North American Robotics Value Provider award winners. The awards were presented during ABBs annual Robotics Value Provider Conference on June 9th in Atlanta, GA.

Presenting the awards on behalf of ABB was Gustavo Sepulveda, ABBs USA robotics general manager. The 2016 award winners are:
• Most Innovative Solution Award Winner: GED Integrated Solutions
• Outstanding Performance Co-Winner: Q Comp Technologies
• Outstanding Performance Co-Winner: CIM Systems Inc.
• Lifetime Achievement Award Winner: BluePrint Robotics

Accepting the awards were Bill Weaver, president and CEO, GED Integrated Solutions; Greg Whitney, vice president of engineering and manufacturing, Q Comp Technologies; Aaron Hogarth, regional sales manager, CIM Systems, Inc.; and Aaron Johnson, vice president and general manager, BluePrint Robotics.

TUV Rheinland Robot Integrator Program

The industry's first comprehensive Robot Integrator Program saves robot integrators significant time and cost investments by allowing them to mark each cell compliant with ANSI/RIA R15.06 with the TUV Rheinland Mark. As opposed to a traditional certification or an on-site field labeling, TÜV Rheinland's Robot Integrator Program certifies the knowledge and skill-set of robot integrators in addition to testing robotic cells and processes against ANSI/RIA R15.06. This reduces the need for frequent onsite or off site testing and allows manufacturers to apply a single TÜV Rheinland label to multiple cells. The Robot Integrator Program individually assesses a robot integrator's understanding of the ANSI/RIA R15.06 standard along with the ability to consistently produce compliant robot cells.
