EPSON Expands LS-Series SCARA Lineup

With the Addition of the LS20, LS6-500 and LS6-700, Epsons Robust SCARA Lineup Offers Even More Robots for More Applications

Carson, CA - July 28, 2016 - Epson Robots, the global leader in SCARA Robots, expands their SCARA robot lineup with the introduction of 3 new robots - the LS20, LS6-500 and LS6-700.

Built to carry heavy objects at high speeds, the LS20 offers a maximum payload of 20Kg and arm lengths in 800mm and 1000mm. Both arm lengths feature a 420mm Z-Axis length. Notable features include high speed cycle times, superior accel/decel rates with smooth start/stop motion and reduced vibration due to Epsons proprietary QMEMS™ vibration sensing technology. Ideal for applications that require a longer reach, larger payload or increased tooling size such as heavy parts assembly, material handling, large area dispensing, and packaging, the LS20 is extremely useful in industries ranging from automotive and appliance to industrial.

The LS6-500 featuring 500mm of reach and LS6-700 featuring 700mm of reach join the existing LS6-600 to add varied arm lengths to the 6Kg payload LS6 models.

"For the last several years, Epsons LS-Series robots have been the robot of choice for high quality, low-cost automation" states Michael Ferrara, Director of Epson Robots. "Now with the addition of 3 new models, were able to offer cost-effective solutions for an even larger variety of applications."

All LS-Series robots come with Epsons RC90 controller which provides users with the perfect combination of ease-of-use, power and reliability. Also included is Epsons user-friendly RC+ 7.0 Development Software which features a multitude of options including Vision Guidance, DeviceNet, Profibus, EtherCat, Microsoft .NET support, GUI Builder and much more. The LS-Series robots are available in standard and ISO 4 Clean models.

Schmalz Technology Development - The Right Gripper for Every Task

In order to interact with their environment and perform the tasks, lightweight robots, like all industrial robots, depend on tools - and in many cases these are vacuum grippers. These form the interface to the workpiece and are therefore a decisive part of the overall system. With their help, the robots can pick up, move, position, process, sort, stack and deposit a wide variety of goods and components. Vacuum gripping systems allow particularly gentle handling of workpieces, a compact and space-saving system design and gripping from above. Precisely because the object does not have to be gripped, the vacuum suction cupenables gapless positioning next to each other.
