Locus Robotics Unveils Groundbreaking Autonomous Navigation at ProMat 2017 Show
Locus Robotics Advanced Navigation (LRAN) software enables multi-robot warehouse fulfillment
Chicago, IL - April 4, 2017 - Today, Locus Robotics (www.locusrobotics.com), the award-winning
the ProMat 2017 Show in Chicago, IL. LRAN marks a significant advancement in Locuss autonomous
robotics navigation software, enabling multi-robot warehouse fulfillment for retailers and 3PL providers.
"Until now, it was challenging to have multiple robots operate in a coordinated fashion in a warehouse
environment," said Rick Faulk, CEO of Locus Robotics. "With our new Locus Robotics Advanced
Navigation (LRAN) system, we can support large numbers of robots operating seamlessly and
collaboratively alongside workers in a warehouse."
Locus Robotics currently has eight customer deployments underway in North America. The LRAN
software has been deployed to these sites through Locuss automatic cloud distribution system, and
customers have already noted immediate improvements in navigational accuracy and pick performance
rates.
"Warehouses are often congested spaces, densely packed with merchandise, transport equipment, and
personnel, said Mike Johnson, co-founder and president of Locus. "The ability to have many robots
moving through the warehouse without impacting traffic flow represents a significant leap forward in
warehouse productivity."
Locus is demonstrating its advanced navigation system at ProMat 2017, the material handling industrys
premier logistics show. The Locus booth is designed to look like a small warehouse, showcasing how
multiple LocusBots are able to work closely alongside attendee "pickers" in a space that is often highly
congested due to high levels of booth traffic.
"Weve brought a realistic warehouse environment to the show floor," said Karen Leavitt, chief
marketing officer of Locus. "Visitors entering our ‘warehouse are amazed at the way the robots move
gracefully among them to complete their tasks."
Locus is exhibiting at ProMat in booth #S1697.
About Locus Robotics

Schmalz Technology Development - The Right Gripper for Every Task
In order to interact with their environment and perform the tasks, lightweight robots, like all industrial robots, depend on tools - and in many cases these are vacuum grippers. These form the interface to the workpiece and are therefore a decisive part of the overall system. With their help, the robots can pick up, move, position, process, sort, stack and deposit a wide variety of goods and components. Vacuum gripping systems allow particularly gentle handling of workpieces, a compact and space-saving system design and gripping from above. Precisely because the object does not have to be gripped, the vacuum suction cupenables gapless positioning next to each other.
