IDS Imaging Development Systems - Strong growth in Asia and the USA

The introduction of a new generation of vision-app based sensors and cameras represents the further development and expansion of the company by opening up new business areas: the IDS NXT vegas enables and supports networked applications of the industry 4.0.

The industrial camera manufacturer IDS Imaging Development Systems starts optimistic into the new year: double-digit growth in order intake and the positive business development for IDS are all reasons for this. The camera manufacturer's sales are currently growing particularly strongly on the Asian and North American continents. Only three years after the 500,000th IDS camera has been produced, delivery of the millionth camera is expected in the first half of the year. In response to rising demand, the company's headquarters in Obersulm, Germany will be expanded until 2019. A technology centre with an area of around 3,200 sqm is planned.

The introduction of a new generation of vision-app based sensors and cameras represents the further development and expansion of the company by opening up new business areas: the IDS NXT vegas enables and supports networked applications of the industry 4.0. For the VISION year 2018 more smart product innovations in the IDS NXT platform are planned. However, numerous innovations are also on the development schedule for the rapidly growing 3D vision segment and the portfolio of classic industrial cameras.

The company supports the VDMA's sustainability initiative Blue Competence with sustainable solutions and conscious action. New technologies and products from IDS take responsibility for people and the environment into account. The "family-oriented company" award, which IDS recently received from the Ministry of Economic Affairs, the Employers' Association and the Family Council, is an expression of the company's employee-oriented philosophy.

IDS currently employs around 240 people and has branches in the USA, Japan and the UK as well as representative offices in France, the Netherlands and Korea. The product range includes industrial cameras with USB 2.0, USB 3.0, USB 3.1 and GigE interfaces, 3D camera systems as well as vision-app based sensors and cameras.

3D Vision: Ensenso B now also available as a mono version!

This compact 3D camera series combines a very short working distance, a large field of view and a high depth of field - perfect for bin picking applications. With its ability to capture multiple objects over a large area, it can help robots empty containers more efficiently. Now available from IDS Imaging Development Systems. In the color version of the Ensenso B, the stereo system is equipped with two RGB image sensors. This saves additional sensors and reduces installation space and hardware costs. Now, you can also choose your model to be equipped with two 5 MP mono sensors, achieving impressively high spatial precision. With enhanced sharpness and accuracy, you can tackle applications where absolute precision is essential. The great strength of the Ensenso B lies in the very precise detection of objects at close range. It offers a wide field of view and an impressively high depth of field. This means that the area in which an object is in focus is unusually large. At a distance of 30 centimetres between the camera and the object, the Z-accuracy is approx. 0.1 millimetres. The maximum working distance is 2 meters. This 3D camera series complies with protection class IP65/67 and is ideal for use in industrial environments.
