3rd Annual DroneDeploy Event Explores the Future of Drones in the Age of Automation

Leading Drone Software Company Announces Forthcoming Products Including Analytics AI Suite & Redesigned “Site-Aware” User Experience

DroneDeploy, the leading commercial drone software platform, today announced their latest technology advancements, shared enterprise customer success stories, and gave their vision for the drone industrys future. The event caps a tremendous year of explosive growth for DroneDeploy in which their platform mapped over 250K sites, performed 600K flights, and processed more than 75 million images.

"Its exciting to be here today at our conference with hundreds of our top customers as they share their recent achievements with drone data," said Mike Winn, CEO of DroneDeploy. "Customers including Katerra, First Solar, and CoreLogic are speaking at the event about their investments in innovation as they bring drones to every job site."

Chief among DroneDeploys product announcements were location-aware "Projects" revealed in a redesigned UI that offers an improved user experience, faster workflows, and visual project timelines.

"For teams working on farms, construction or mining sites, or in utilities, Projects deliver a more powerful and intuitive way to use DroneDeploy. Projects incorporates all the improved analysis and collaboration tools were announcing today. This is a major step towards the autonomy and ease-of-use our customers desire," explained Matt Hunter, VP Product at DroneDeploy.

DroneDeploys many product announcements covered three major areas.

1. Projects automatically groups drone data and reports by location. They make it easier to plan flights, process maps, and most importantly, analyze and share data. Projects come with a host of new platform capabilities including reusable flight templates and the ability to leverage recent drone maps as the planning layer for future flights. Projects also include a significant advancement called Map Alignment, that automatically aligns maps of the same location. The new UI paired with Map Alignment reduces the complexity of producing accurate maps and comparing changes throughout the project lifecycle—such as stockpile volumes or building progress—saving teams time in the field and the office.

2. Analytics AI Suite includes three new artificial intelligence features. "Ground Control AI" pinpoints Ground Control Points (GCPs) 20x faster and is 2x more accurate than manual selection. "Count AI" counts cars, trees, livestock, and other objects automatically. "Stockpile AI" scans terrain and automatically identifies stockpiles of all shapes, sizes, colors, and surface materials—eliminating hours of manual analysis on a large site map.

3. New Procore & Construction Integrations take advantage of the industrys leading Software Development Kit. The new Procore app includes a customizable transfer tool that automatically syncs maps, photos, drawings, and design files between Procore and DroneDeploy projects. The bi-directional sync ensures the latest drawings update across all maps—and thanks to Map Alignment, they always line up. Support for other file formats will be coming soon including DXF and AutoCAD DWG. The DroneDeploy Autodesk BIM360 App capabilities will also be improved and ship in early December.

DroneDeploy is the leading cloud software platform for commercial drones. Trusted by leading brands globally, DroneDeploy makes the power of aerial data accessible and productive for everyone by transforming data collection and analysis across industries, including construction, energy, agriculture, and mining. BitFlow Introduces 6th Generation Camera Link Frame Grabber: The Axion

BitFlow has offered a Camera Link frame grabbers for almost 15 years. This latest offering, our 6th generation combines the power of CoaXPress with the requirements of Camera Link 2.0. Enabling a single or two camera system to operate at up to 850 MB/S per camera, the Axion-CL family is the best choice for CL frame grabber. Like the Cyton-CXP frame grabber, the Axion-CL leverages features such as the new StreamSync system, a highly optimized DMA engine, and expanded I/O capabilities that provide unprecedented flexibility in routing. There are two options available; Axion 1xE & Axion 2xE. The Axion 1xE is compatible with one base, medium, full or 80-bit camera offering PoCL, Power over Camera Link, on both connectors. The Axion 2xE is compatible with two base, medium, full or 80-bit cameras offering PoCL on both connectors for both cameras. The Axion-CL is a culmination of the continuous improvements and updates BitFlow has made to Camera Link frame grabbers.
