Coval's Carbon Vacuum Gripper, A Cobot's Best Friend

Collaborative robots, or cobots as they are known in the industry, are developing rapidly, with an annual growth rate of more than 60% from 2017 to 2021* (Source Technavio). To offer solutions to this new market, Coval is launching its EOAT (End Of Arm Tools) range. The CVGC series of carbon vacuum grippers are the first product series to be launched.

As their name implies, the role of collaborative robots is to collaborate with operators. The objective is to enhance versatility, eliminate repetitive tasks, prevent MSDs and boost productivity. However, to realize their full potential, these cobots need efficient tools. To meet this challenge, Coval is launching a range of gripping tools.

The first product to be introduced is the CVGC carbon vacuum gripper. It is not just an adaptation of an existing product, but a plug and play product designed 100% for various cobot models. Its design features seamlessly integrate with cobots to take advantage of their greatest strengths:
• Lightweight, (< 1 kg for the smallest model) thanks to a carbon fiber construction will conserve the cobot's lifting capacity.
• Quick assembly and disassembly, without special tools, to promote the cobot's versatility.
• Operator protection via a flexible peripheral foam. Compactness, with a function block housing the vacuum generator, control cartridge, vacuum switch and silencer.
• Versatility, with a foam gripping interface suitable for a range of workpieces and available in three dimensions (150 x 150 mm, 240 x 120 mm, 320 x 160 mm).

A Vast Range of Applications
With this ultra-light vacuum gripper, COVAL transforms each cobot into a tool that boosts the productivity and protects the health of operators in a wide range of industries: food, packaging, plastics, etc.
Due to its immense adaptability and the capabilities of Coval's design department, the CVGC constitutes a tool available to all manufacturers, integrators and users of cobots for palletizing, gripping boxes or plastic parts, etc.

An Example of the Benefits of French Fab
CVGC carbon vacuum grippers are based on the expertise gained by COVAL, as a partner to integrators and manufacturers for more than 30 years, and the innovative capabilities of its in-house design team.
They fully complement the COVAL range of vacuum pumps, suction cups and accessories for vacuum handling. CVGC vacuum grippers are manufactured in Montélier, France, underlining COVAL's commitment to the French Fab initiative.

Dynatect Automated Machine Safety Roll-Up Doors

Need to increase safety? Are you using light curtains? Is space a concern? Dynatect's Gortite® VF Automated Machine Safety Door combines safety technology, speed, and a physical barrier to isolate hazardous operations. Use of a physical barrier with safety sensors can save up to 30 square feet of manufacturing space. Using the ANSI minimum safety distance formula, the Gortite® VF Door limits the depth penetration factor and average approach speed, allowing closer location of the safeguarding device. Unlike light curtains, which can't contain process hazards, an automated machine safety door can isolate common workplace debris. This physical barrier is designed to contain process driven hazards such as weld sparks, UV flash, and light debris. Thus, the operator can maintain closer proximity to the work area improving ergonomics and productivity.
