IMTS Brings Work to Life for dgs Marketing Engineers

dgs Marketing Engineers will be present for its 18th IMTS. As the leading advertising and marketing agency for advanced manufacturing in North America, dgs will be on hand to maximize the show’s potential and reach for their portfolio of clients exhibiting at IMTS.

FISHERS, Ind. - The International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS) is the largest and longest running industry trade show in the western hemisphere. Every two years, creators, builders, sellers, and drivers of manufacturing technology set aside a week to connect, share and grow. When professionals from around the globe flock to the bi-annual show at Chicago's McCormick's Place in September 2022, dgs Marketing Engineers will be present for its 18th IMTS. As the leading advertising and marketing agency for advanced manufacturing in North America, dgs will be on hand to maximize the show's potential and reach for their portfolio of clients exhibiting at IMTS.

The first year dgs Marketing Engineers stepped on the show floor, Madonna's "Vogue" was a number one song, people enjoyed watching movies at home thanks to VCRs, and Adobe introduced Photoshop 1.0 to the market. It was 1990 and the first year the word "technology" was officially added to the show's name. IMTS' return to an in-person experience in 2022 magnifies the marketing agency's deep history in manufacturing.

"We become an extension of our clients' marketing departments," explains Leslie Galbreath, president and CEO of dgs. "It is core to our business longevity and to our clients' successes. With the diversity of our client portfolio, IMTS is the show that brings the majority of our clients under one roof and often our only opportunity to see clients face-to-face. We felt the void in 2020."

dgs' national and international advanced manufacturing client base made virtual meetings and remote work achievements the norm long before 2020. At the same time, face-to-face time with clients, editors, and advertising partners at IMTS is an asset for the marketing team. It is also an immersive opportunity for the entire team to be hands on with the products and services they advance.

"My first IMTS brought the enormity of what dgs does to life," recalls Galbreath. "Our entire team carries that responsibility with us every day in our work. IMTS allows us to celebrate it with others in the industry and gain insight on what the future will bring into the consumer market."

IMTS is a leading indicator of what Americans will eventually see available for purchase. While the Consumer Electronic Show each January in Las Vegas launches the latest products for a mass retail market, the dgs team regales in knowing their clients often introduced the processes, technologies, and manufacturing methods at IMTS years before items make it to store shelves and Internet shopping carts.

"Our clients are creators in every sense of the word, and we are at IMTS to make sure everyone knows it," Galbreath says.

How cameras deliver sharp images despite changing distances

IDS Imaging Development Systems offers a range of models, from a webcam-like camera in industrial quality to a tiny autofocus camera that weighs just12 grams. The 13 MP autofocus camera uEye XC closes the market gap between industrial cameras and webcams. Setting up and operating only requires a cable connection. After that, the autofocus camera immediately delivers high-resolution, detailed images and videos. With the optionally available, quickly exchangeable macro lens, users can easily shorten the minimum object distance of the camera. This makes it also suitable for close-up applications. Focus from a distance of just 10 cm. The uEye XS is even more compact and fits into almost any application with its size of just 26.4 x 23 x 21.7 mm. Thanks to its autofocus and 5 MP CMOS sensor, it delivers consistently sharp images and videos from a distance of just 10 cm. When it comes to image quality, natural color reproduction and harmonious contrast are also decisive factors. IDS has therefore equipped the uEye XS with many other practical automatic features familiar from consumer technology. This includes white balance, exposure and gain. As a result, it delivers the best possible result in every situation.
