Lemvos launches AutomatePro - a cost effective all-in-one compute and control system for outdoor robotics applications

RTK Positioning, Perception, Connectivity, Sensing, and Control in one single unit

Lemvos, a company dedicated to the acceleration, development and deployment of outdoor robotics solutions today announced the global launch of AutomatePro - a single ‘plug and play' unit providing critical components including; positioning, perception, connectivity, sensing, and control.

Built for Agriculture, Mining, Construction and Maritime robotics industries, AutomatePro is designed to accelerate the development of outdoor robotics applications by integrating many of the critical components required for such systems including; extensive I/O interfaces, several connectivity options, powerful onboard computer, auxiliary power supplies, precision RTK positioning, and multiple camera inputs all within a compact, IP67-rated ruggedized system.

The AutomatePro all-in-one, ROS2-based controller streamlines outdoor robotics development by minimizing reliance on external subsystems, reducing complexity, effort, and potential failure points in the field. Integrated 5G/4G connectivity enables remote diagnostics, teleoperation, RTK corrections, and over-the-air software updates. Additionally, Lemvos provides a range of hardware and software tools to further support and accelerate clients' outdoor robotics projects.

AutomatePro offers a comprehensive positioning solution, including both standalone RTK positioning and RTK differential heading, ideal for applications where magnetic bearings are unreliable. An optional wheel tick and direction input enables fusion of wheel odometry with RTK GNSS and a 9-axis IMU. A powerful onboard NVIDIA system-on-module (SOM) also allows clients to run alternative odometry methods, if desired. The integrated cellular modem streamlines access to RTK correction data, simplifying deployment and connectivity - there's no need to maintain and transport a base station for RTK, providing a significant advantage for many outdoor robotics.

AutomatePro is available to purchase now direct from Lemvos and costs between €1,360 to €3,950 depending on options and quantities.

Phillip Abplanalp, Co-Founder, Lemvos, said, "Building outdoor robotics involves a complex interplay of hardware and software subsystems that must operate reliably over long periods. With AutomatePro, we simplify this challenge by unifying core components into a single, integrated system, giving developers a solid foundation to build and scale outdoor robotics applications".

FAULHABER Drive Systems at the Robotics Summit & Expo in Boston from April 30 to May 1 in Hall C at Booth 534

Faulhaber will be presenting their drive systems for robotics and smart technology. Robots are versatile and can be found in many areas, for example, transporting goods, operating on patients or supporting the agriculture industry. With the help of robots, processes can be automated, the flow of materials optimized and employees relieved. Equipped with FAULHABER drive systems, these robots can take on tasks where the demands on function and applications are high.
