ALVA Industries Announces A New Motor Technology Demonstration at Automatica 2025
The seamless performance is the result of successful compatibility testing between the two companies, confirming precision control, efficient performance, and smooth integration. The demo will be fully installed at Alva’s booth (#512, Hall B6) and features a complete setup of Alva’s SlimTorq™ frameless motor with Elmo’s Platinum Harmonica drive.
Trondheim, Norway - 18 June 2025 - ALVA Industries (Alva) will showcase a live demonstration at Automatica 2025, powered by Elmo. This demo features Alva's SlimTorq frameless motors, driven by Elmo's high-performance servo drive technology.
The seamless performance is the result of successful compatibility testing between the two companies, confirming precision control, efficient performance, and smooth integration. The demo will be fully installed at Alva's booth (#512, Hall B6) and features a complete setup of Alva's SlimTorq™ frameless motor with Elmo's Platinum Harmonica drive.
"We're excited to collaborate with Elmo Motion Control, a leader in advanced motion solutions," said Nicolas Giraudo, Chief Commercial Officer at Alva Industries. "Their proven expertise in delivering high-performance and reliable drivers and controllers across a wide range of applications aligns seamlessly with our SlimTorq™ motor portfolio. By combining Elmo's precision and reliability with Alva's compact, light, precise and high-torque technology, we're creating a powerful synergy that delivers exceptional value to our shared existing and potential new customers."
In continuation, Ronen Sadan, VP Marketing at Elmo Motion Control, stated, "The collaboration with Alva is truly innovative. Their unique motor technology adds a new level to many industrial applications. We encourage show visitors to see the results for themselves at Automatica."
At the core of the demo is Alva's SlimTorq™ motor series - a slotless, frameless motor designed for demanding motion control applications. Its zero cogging, high torque density, and large through-hole make it ideal for medical devices, gimbals, and robotics. Combined with Elmo's compact and high-efficiency servo drives, the result is a dynamic, reliable, and scalable motion solution.
Complementing this is Elmo's Platinum Harmonica, an ultra-compact servo drive delivering up to 400 W of continuous power with over 99% efficiency. It operates on a 12-60 VDC control supply, supports functional safety, and delivers up to 5 A continuous (3.5 A RMS) with peak currents up to 2× Ic. With an output voltage reaching >95% of the DC bus voltage at 22 kHz, this compact unit is engineered for applications that demand high power density, smooth control, and reliable integration into space-constrained designs.
