BrainCo Launches Revo2 Hand for Humanoid Robotics

Designed with ergonomic principles in mind, Revo2 is an ultra-lightweight and compact bionic hand weighing just 383g and measuring 16 x 7.6 cm. It offers sub-millimeter precision of 0.1 mm, delivers a grip force of 50N, and supports a payload of 20 kg, achieving a remarkable grip-to-weight ratio of 52.6. Equipped with multimodal tactile sensors, a wide voltage range of 64V, and support for various communication protocols, Revo2 unlocks new possibilities in embodied intelligent dexterous manipulation.

BrainCo, a leading global brain-computer interface company, has recently unveiled its next-generation bionic dexterous hand: the BrainCo Bionic Dexterous Hand Revo2. Building on years of expertise in developing prosthetic limbs for individuals with disabilities, the company has established a strong technological foundation, which now serves as the base for its strategic expansion into embodied intelligence with the launch of this advanced dexterous hand.

As the boundaries of embodied intelligence expand from simple transportation tasks to fine motor operations, application scenarios are growing increasingly complex. To meet this demand, robot designs are evolving toward human-like form factors. It is widely acknowledged that the development of a dexterous hand accounts for nearly half the engineering complexity of humanoid robots—hands are among the most intricate and sophisticated subsystems.

Through innovations in bionic joint design, precision transmission mechanisms, and lightweight system integration, BrainCo has created a product that mimics the human hand both structurally and functionally. This "millimeter-level subtraction" engineering strategy has led to a "multiplication in performance," enabling Revo2 to achieve industry-leading lightweight performance and efficiency.

At just 16 cm long—similar in size to an average adult female hand—Revo2 weighs only 383 grams, about the weight of six eggs, which is 20% lighter than the industry average. Despite its compactness, it delivers 50N of grip force.

To put this in context: everyday tasks typically require 30-40N of grip force, meaning Revo2 can easily handle most light industrial tasks and home applications, and even lift items weighing 20 kg—equivalent to a full office water jug.

Noise levels are also tightly controlled, staying below 50 dB, quieter than ambient noise in a typical office. Revo2 features multiple safety protections including anti-collision, overcurrent, and overheating protection, ensuring safe and reliable operation across diverse environments, and significantly reducing failure rates. This makes it particularly well-suited for laboratories, home service, and industrial settings.

Another standout feature is Revo2's advanced tactile sensing system. The integration of tactile sensors into the finger structure enables "lightweight, high-perception" capabilities.

With built-in 3D tactile sensors, Revo2 can accurately perceive fingertip pressure, as well as detect object hardness, texture, force direction, and even proximity.

With this tactile system, humanoid robots and other applications can not only "grasp" objects, but also "feel" them—distinguishing between objects' fragility, texture, or resilience, enabling precision-level manipulation and hand-eye coordination. A classic example is its ability to strike a matchstick with ease.

From smart home tasks like laundry and cooking, to industrial operations like assembly, welding, and inspection, dexterous hands are emerging as indispensable components. With the rapid growth of the embodied intelligence industry, demand is expected to soar. BrainCo stated that it will continue to focus on real-world use cases and work toward broader deployment and application of bionic dexterous hands across diverse fields.
