Sierra-Olympic Introduces Continuous Zoom, Uncooled LWIR Thermal Chassis Camera

The Vinden CZ series is designed as an open-frame chassis camera for integrators and OEMs in industrial, security/surveillance, and military markets.

July 17, 2014 - Hood River, OR - Sierra-Olympic Technologies, Inc., supplier of infrared (IR) and thermal imaging components, cameras, and systems solutions for advanced thermal imaging applications, introduces the Vinden CZ 320 continuous zoom thermal chassis camera. The first of two camera models in the series, the Vinden CZ 320 is offered in both 60 Hz and 9 Hz frame rates for the widest possible range of domestic and international customers. The Vinden CZ series is designed as an open-frame chassis camera for integrators and OEMs in industrial, security/surveillance, and military markets.

The system provides 3X optical zoom and 2X digital zoom, for a zoom range of 8.9 degrees to 1.5 degrees. The system is managed by an innovative custom processor which provides critical image processing functions, with extensions for edge analytics.

The Vinden CZ generates H.264/MJPEG IP-video streams for Ethernet connectivity, as well as simultaneous NTSC/PAL analog video, and 14-bit Camera Link® digital video. Command and control is via Ethernet or TTL serial. The vision processor provides multiple-image processing and noise-reduction functions. The rugged, compact chassis weighs less than 860 gm and is designed for commercial use.

Schmalz Technology Development - Vacuum Generation without Compressed Air - Flexible and Intelligent

• Vacuum generation that's 100% electrical; • Integrated intelligence for energy and process control; • Extensive communication options through IO-Link interface; Schmalz already offers a large range of solutions that can optimize handling process from single components such as vacuum generators to complete gripping systems. Particularly when used in autonomous warehouse, conventional vacuum generation with compressed air reaches its limits. Compressed air often is unavailable in warehouses. Schmalz therefore is introducing a new technology development: a gripper with vacuum generation that does not use compressed air. The vacuum is generated 100% electrically. This makes the gripper both energy efficient and mobile. At the same time, warehouses need systems with integrated intelligence to deliver information and learn. This enables the use of mobile and self-sufficient robots, which pick production order at various locations in the warehouse. Furthermore, Schmalz provides various modular connection options from its wide range of end effectors in order to handle different products reliably and safely.
