Sierra-Olympic Introduces LWIR Chassis Camera with Continuous Zoom & Digital Signal Processing

Designed for OEMs & integrators, the Vinden CZ 640 is ideal for security/surveillance.

Sept. 22, 2014 - Hood River, OR - Sierra-Olympic Technologies, Inc., supplier of infrared (IR) and thermal imaging components, cameras, and systems solutions for advanced thermal imaging applications, introduces the Vinden CZ 640, the second model in the series of uncooled, continuous-zoom thermal chassis cameras. Features include 640 x 480 pixel resolution at 30 Hz, plus a convenient 9 Hz model for international and/or domestic customers.

The high-performing thermal camera delivers H.264/MJPEG IP-video for Ethernet connectivity and simultaneous Camera Link® digital and analog NTSC/PAL video. All Vinden CZ cameras support on-board streaming video storage and FTP file connectivity to the host. The Vinden CZ longwave infrared (LWIR) camera series is ideal for a wide variety of surveillance and security imaging applications such as port and harbor security, defense, thermal pan/tilt/zoom (PTZ) systems, infrastructure security, and more. It is specially designed for commercial integrators, OEMs, and end-users worldwide who require high-quality, yet affordable, uncooled, continuous-zoom, LWIR thermal imaging.

The Vinden CZ 640 has a 35 -105 mm continuous-zoom parfocal lens with a 3x optical zoom, 4x digital zoom, and horizontal field of view (HFOV) from 17.1 degrees to 1.5 degrees. The advanced vision processor provides multiple-image processing and noise-reduction functions, with extensions for edge analytics to achieve optimum LWIR video performance. The rugged, compact, and lightweight chassis (less than 860 grams) is designed for commercial use and offers convenient Ethernet or TTLS serial user command and control. Universal Robots - Collaborative Robot Solutions

Universal Robots is a result of many years of intensive research in robotics. The product portfolio includes the UR5 and UR10 models that handle payloads of up to 11.3 lbs. and 22.6 lbs. respectively. The six-axis robot arms weigh as little as 40 lbs. with reach capabilities of up to 51 inches. Repeatability of +/- .004" allows quick precision handling of even microscopically small parts. After initial risk assessment, the collaborative Universal Robots can operate alongside human operators without cumbersome and expensive safety guarding. This makes it simple and easy to move the light-weight robot around the production, addressing the needs of agile manufacturing even within small- and medium sized companies regarding automation as costly and complex. If the robots come into contact with an employee, the built-in force control limits the forces at contact, adhering to the current safety requirements on force and torque limitations. Intuitively programmed by non-technical users, the robot arms go from box to operation in less than an hour, and typically pay for themselves within 195 days. Since the first UR robot entered the market in 2009, the company has seen substantial growth with the robotic arms now being sold in more than 50 countries worldwide.
