Sept. 22, 2014 - Hood River, OR - Sierra-Olympic Technologies, Inc., supplier of infrared (IR) and thermal imaging components, cameras, and systems solutions for advanced thermal imaging applications, introduces the Vinden CZ 640, the second model in the series of uncooled, continuous-zoom thermal chassis cameras. Features include 640 x 480 pixel resolution at 30 Hz, plus a convenient 9 Hz model for international and/or domestic customers.


The high-performing thermal camera delivers H.264/MJPEG IP-video for Ethernet connectivity and simultaneous Camera Link® digital and analog NTSC/PAL video. All Vinden CZ cameras support on-board streaming video storage and FTP file connectivity to the host. The Vinden CZ longwave infrared (LWIR) camera series is ideal for a wide variety of surveillance and security imaging applications such as port and harbor security, defense, thermal pan/tilt/zoom (PTZ) systems, infrastructure security, and more. It is specially designed for commercial integrators, OEMs, and end-users worldwide who require high-quality, yet affordable, uncooled, continuous-zoom, LWIR thermal imaging.

The Vinden CZ 640 has a 35 -105 mm continuous-zoom parfocal lens with a 3x optical zoom, 4x digital zoom, and horizontal field of view (HFOV) from 17.1 degrees to 1.5 degrees. The advanced vision processor provides multiple-image processing and noise-reduction functions, with extensions for edge analytics to achieve optimum LWIR video performance. The rugged, compact, and lightweight chassis (less than 860 grams) is designed for commercial use and offers convenient Ethernet or TTLS serial user command and control.
