Canvas Technology Raises $15 million To Accelerate Development of Autonomous Robotic Systems

The system utilizes computer vision to continuously map its environment, efficiently plan the best navigation path and intelligently work with people and other mobile equipment. Canvas is particularly focused on fast-moving and changing environments.

Boulder, CO - Canvas Technology , a robotics company building autonomous technology for industrial applications, announced its Series A financing, led by Playground Global with participation from previous investors, including Xplorer Capital, AME Cloud Ventures and Morado Ventures.

Canvas Technology has built a state-of-the-art autonomous system for efficient movement of mobile vehicles in factories and warehouses. The system includes high-performance proprietary 3D sensors and an end-to-end software package that can be utilized on mobile hardware including the Canvas Autonomous Cart. Canvas' autonomous platform accels in unstructured environments such as lean manufacturing, high-growth and dynamic warehouses, outdoor logistics or construction sites.

Playground Global's sole purpose is to back entrepreneurial companies building the future of the connected world through software-defined hardware. "The Canvas team has created a powerful vertically integrated robot operating system, with perception and speed that rivals anything we've seen. We think it will not only bring enormous gains to the manufacturing and logistics sectors but to many other industries that need a turn key autonomous technology solution," said Andy Rubin, Co-Founder of Playground Global.

The system utilizes computer vision to continuously map its environment, efficiently plan the best navigation path and intelligently work with people and other mobile equipment. Canvas is particularly focused on fast-moving and changing environments.

BitFlow Introduces 6th Generation Camera Link Frame Grabber: The Axion

BitFlow has offered a Camera Link frame grabbers for almost 15 years. This latest offering, our 6th generation combines the power of CoaXPress with the requirements of Camera Link 2.0. Enabling a single or two camera system to operate at up to 850 MB/S per camera, the Axion-CL family is the best choice for CL frame grabber. Like the Cyton-CXP frame grabber, the Axion-CL leverages features such as the new StreamSync system, a highly optimized DMA engine, and expanded I/O capabilities that provide unprecedented flexibility in routing. There are two options available; Axion 1xE & Axion 2xE. The Axion 1xE is compatible with one base, medium, full or 80-bit camera offering PoCL, Power over Camera Link, on both connectors. The Axion 2xE is compatible with two base, medium, full or 80-bit cameras offering PoCL on both connectors for both cameras. The Axion-CL is a culmination of the continuous improvements and updates BitFlow has made to Camera Link frame grabbers.
