Vecna Robotics to Present, Attend ProMat and Automate 2019 in Chicago
Visit booth #S4583 to learn about workflow automation, robotics
Vecna Robotics, a leader in the automated material handling industry, will both attend and present at two industry events, ProMat and Automate 2019, which will be co-located at Chicago's McCormick Place, from April 8-11. The ProMat expo is the largest for manufacturing and supply chain professionals in North and South America. The Automate expo offers a broad overview of the entire automation industry.
Vecna will be displaying a wide range of vehicles, including its autonomous Tugger and Pallet Jack at ProMat booth #S4583. Vecna executives, including Chief Innovation Officer Daniel Theobald, and VP of Sales John Hayes, will present the following:
Applications Segmented by SubdivisionsProMat, April 8 at 11:15 AM, Theater B Hayes presentation is sponsored by MHI and will be co-presented with Tom Kaminski, VP of Mobile Automation at Dematic. Their presentation will utilize real-life use-cases to demonstrate how AGV technology can be integrated to yield optimal results. The presentation will also include rationale for the types of AGVs used as well as other application specific information pertinent to the system.
Exclusive Tips for Automating Your OperationProMat, April 8 at 4:00 PM, RoboBusiness Theater - Emerging Technology Solution CenterThis presentation delivered by Theobald is sponsored by RoboBusiness and will extract over two decades of robotics and industry experience to explain how the most forefront adopters of automation are integrating new technologies and optimizing workflows. He will share how Vecna is re-engineering workflow automation to maximize productivity and throughput rates.
Fireside Chat with Autonomy Ventures Automate, April 10 at 1:00 PM, Show Floor Theobald will sit down with Oliver Mitchell, Founding Partner of Autonomy Ventures, to discuss how he started Vecna more than 20 years ago. The discussion will also focus on the future of the robotics industry. This event is sponsored by RIA and MassRobotics.
The Collective Workflow: Benefits of the human, robot and AI IntegrationAutomate, April 11 at 11:00 AMTheobald will present on the importance of combining the individual strengths of humans and robots in sustainable workflows. It will also introduce the concepts that drive the world's first AI-based orchestration engine to manage operational resources and monitor equipment. He will share insights on how robots can empower humanity to do more productive and fulfilling work.

3D Vision: Ensenso B now also available as a mono version!
This compact 3D camera series combines a very short working distance, a large field of view and a high depth of field - perfect for bin picking applications. With its ability to capture multiple objects over a large area, it can help robots empty containers more efficiently. Now available from IDS Imaging Development Systems. In the color version of the Ensenso B, the stereo system is equipped with two RGB image sensors. This saves additional sensors and reduces installation space and hardware costs. Now, you can also choose your model to be equipped with two 5 MP mono sensors, achieving impressively high spatial precision. With enhanced sharpness and accuracy, you can tackle applications where absolute precision is essential. The great strength of the Ensenso B lies in the very precise detection of objects at close range. It offers a wide field of view and an impressively high depth of field. This means that the area in which an object is in focus is unusually large. At a distance of 30 centimetres between the camera and the object, the Z-accuracy is approx. 0.1 millimetres. The maximum working distance is 2 meters. This 3D camera series complies with protection class IP65/67 and is ideal for use in industrial environments.
