Robotify to Host Product Showcase 2020 Supporting Critical STEM Education for Young Coders, Developers
Throughout the event, attendees will get an exclusive first look at Robotify’s new fundamentals coding course set on planet Mars, where students will help their new robot companion ‘Axel’ complete a range of tasks.
Alexandria, Virginia - December 7th, 2020 - Robotify is an Irish virtual robotics education technology company that has built a deeply-technical robotics simulation platform to help young students learn how to write code for robotics uses. With a sharp focus on preparing students for the automation-driven workplace of the future, Robotify is launching several new products and platform enhancements via a live Product Showcase on December 10, 2020.
Throughout the event, attendees will get an exclusive first look at Robotify's new fundamentals coding course set on planet Mars, where students will help their new robot companion ‘Axel' complete a range of tasks. In addition, Robotify will unveil the new multi-player platform Roboduel, where students can put their coding skills to the ultimate test by competing in global virtual robotics competitions.
Robotify is supported by Enterprise Ireland, Ireland's trade and innovation agency, who partners with Irish enterprise companies to help them start, grow, and win export sales in global markets. Enterprise Ireland is thrilled to support the Robotify team as they continue to innovate, launch new offerings, and teach students new, important technical skills.
"STEM education is more critical today than ever before. Industry analysts suggest that by 2034, nearly half of all jobs will be automated and replaced by robots at some level, said Adam Dalton, CEO & Co-Founder, Robotify. "This means that we must do all we can now to help the next generation understand coding and learn how to develop the robots, drones, and other automated systems that will shape future job markets and economies."
With Robotify, students have access to the latest and greatest robots without having to ever purchase real hardware. The comprehensive platform gives students access to robots and environments that have never been accessible before through the browser.
"Unfortunately, STEM education has been affected by the pandemic; along with school closings, robotics clubs have been canceled as well as the competitions. It's important, however, to ensure that students still receive a fully-rounded STEM education," added Dalton. "Robotify is the ideal platform for remote learning and includes virtual robots in virtual environments, eliminating any physical contact but keeping the fun and interaction alive for students."
The Live Product Showcase will feature:
• Mars Fundamentals: An introduction to Robotify's new course set on planet Mars with the new robot companion Axel (includes 50+ hours of interactive learning). In these lessons, students take on the role of a programmer working in the first Martian colony, developing code for Axel. As Axel's programmer, they help their robot companion learn how to solve various problems around the colony.
• RoboDuel: A brand-new virtual robotics competition platform, with the world's first-ever Virtual Aerial Drone competition! Robotify will be hosting sponsored leagues with some very special partners. Registration is currently open, and games commence in January 2021.
• Robotify EDU: All the latest platform updates, providing educators with access to more resources and special features than ever before. This lesson plan and the Robotify EDU platform problem sets associated with them have been designed to introduce students to basic programming concepts and eventually equip them with meta-cognitive tools to aid them in their programming journey.
• Importance of STEM: How Robotify is helping to teach kids coding.
• COVID-19: How STEM education has been affected by the pandemic.
