World’s first multi-UV Dome brings safety & flexibility to UV imaging applications

TPL Vision's Fluorescence Imaging Solution (FIS) is the world's first multi-wavelength UV dome light designed to simplify and improve fluorescence inspection and traceability applications. The FIS is unlike any other UV illumination on the market due to it being an all-in-one solution that's easily installed into any vision system. It comes with integrated current control and utilises a variety of novel features making the life of an integrator, machine builder or end user easier. The dome uses new, patented innovations on the internal surface to ensure UV light is reflected uniformly and in a specific way to create the best contrast for fluorescing features, regardless of the material used.

The Fluorescence Imaging Solution is an innovative all-in-one product that puts user experience and safety first without compromising on illumination quality. With the multi-UV output, users can test and select multiple UV wavelengths (UV365, 395 and 405nm) along with white illumination for secondary inspection.

Adjustments can be done instantly at the click of a button, allowing real-time testing of different fluorescence effects and contrast levels. The multi-UV technology provides users with flexibility to quickly change the illumination setup to adapt to the application requirements without having to purchase additional equipment, thus minimising production downtime.
The combination of the dome and the integrated filter has the added benefit of shielding direct emissions from the UV LEDs, thus enabling safer use for operators in the area, and blocking any external elements (such as sunlight) from disrupting the image processing tasks.
The Fluorescence Imaging Solution is easy to set up and use with any visible spectrum camera, from fully featured smart cameras to entry level code readers. It greatly simplifies the process of identifying the optimum wavelength or mix of wavelengths to produce the best balance of bright fluorescence and high contrast with the object, making it the first UV imaging solution of its kind.
Application areas include the inspection of glue seals and bank notes as well as the imaging of excise stamps and fluorescent safety and brand protection features typically found in pharmaceutical products, electronics and luxury goods, such as perfumes & aftershaves, tobacco & alcohol products, and designer branded products.
