ZIMMER GROUP TO SHOWCASE ADVANCED MACHINE TOOLING SOLUTIONS AT IMTS 2024

In partnership with ABB, FANUC and Universal Robots, Zimmer Group will offer machine tooling and gripper demonstrations on their collaborative robots. Also being showcased is ZiMo, Zimmer Group’s flexible robotic cell, an automation and machine tending solution designed for small and medium-sized businesses.

Hickory, NC - Zimmer Group, a leading manufacturer in the automation industry that specializes in machine tooling including zero-point clamping, motor spindles and pallet changers, linear technology and braking elements, industrial shock absorbers and end-of-arm tooling, is exhibiting at IMTS in Chicago, IL at booth #236448 in the North building, level 3. Show dates are September 9 to September 14 at McCormick Place. In partnership with ABB, FANUC and Universal Robots, Zimmer Group will offer machine tooling and gripper demonstrations on their collaborative robots. Also being showcased is ZiMo, Zimmer Group's flexible robotic cell, an automation and machine tending solution designed for small and medium-sized businesses.

By automating processes with CNC and CMM machines, Zimmer Group's zero-point clamping system, the SPN series, dramatically increases productivity and efficiency. Machine set-up times are reduced by up to 90%, and cleaning and maintenance of the system is minimal. The SPP series of pallet changers offer secure clamping for all applications including the precise handling of components in portal systems or for clamping pallet couplings or pins with high repeatability.
ZiMo offers a simple and cost-effective introduction to automation processes. The mobile robot workstation features several amenities including a cobot, end effector, built-in controller, integrated safety features, and more. It enables free and mobile positioning at various locations without complex integration into existing systems. An intuitive setup allows for operation without programming knowledge and its flexible configuration with quick adaptation enables profitable automation solutions, even for small-batch sizes.
Highlighted with ABB's GoFa on the ZiMo and FANUC's CRX collaborative robots, a featured product on display is MATCH, the multi-functional end-of-arm platform from Zimmer Group and Schmalz. Equipped with an extensive range of functions and universal communication interfaces, MATCH is compatible with all common lightweight robots on the market - an ideal system for cobots and conventional 6-axis robots.
The newest product in linear technology to be showcased is the AC series of compact axes. The ACS40 slide combines precise linear motion with powerful, integrated drives - in the smallest of spaces. Standard features include safe torque-off, flexible control via IO-Link or CANopen powered by a ball screw with a BLDC motor.
Zimmer Group will also showcase their IO-Link technology and several products from their portfolio in damping, linear and handling technologies including their multiple award-winning premium pneumatic grippers of the 5000 series.
