This four-legged robot can open doors and we're all doomed

Mike Murphy for MarketWatch:  Boston Dynamics showed off its latest advanced robot Monday, which left some people wondering if it was a technological marvel or dystopian nightmare fuel.

Maybe a little bit of both?

In a video, the dog-like four-legged SpotMini robot is seen opening a closed door with a mechanical arm, and walking though. It’s just one more human-like movement that Boston Dynamics‘ machines have mastered. In November, the Waltham, Mass.,-based company showed one of its robots doing a backflip.

Last summer, Japanese conglomerate Softbank Group Corp. bought Boston Dynamics from Google parent Alphabet Inc. 

The reaction Monday on social media could best be summed up as: Humans are doomed.  Full Article:
