Flexiv Forecasts the Future of Robotics at IROS 2025

From human-inspired design to next-generation adaptability, Flexiv Robotics showcases and explains the innovations shaping the future of intelligent automation.

SANTA CLARA, CA - October 16, 2025 - Flexiv, a global leader in general-purpose robotics, is proud to announce its participation in the IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems (IROS) 2025. During one of the world's most prestigious robotics events, Flexiv will both exhibit and present at this year's conference, unveiling a new generation of human-inspired robotic technologies designed to advance adaptability, perception, and connection in automation.

Taking place from October 19 to 25 at the Hangzhou International Expo Center, IROS 2025 is expected to attract more than 10,000 robotics professionals, researchers, and engineers from around the world.

Attendees can visit Flexiv at Booth 3C B089-B090 from October 21 to 23 to explore how flexibility, perception, and connection are redefining adaptive robotics. Highlights include Flexiv's latest teleoperation demonstration and the upgraded Gecko-inspired Grav Enhanced adaptive gripper, both showcasing the company's leadership in tactile precision and intelligent motion control.
Shuhan Li, Manager of Applied Research at Flexiv Robotics, will also deliver an address during the conference titled "Breaking Down Barriers: How Human-inspired Design Drives General-Purpose Robotics." His presentation will explore how principles derived from human anatomy and psychology are shaping the next generation of adaptive robots to be the foundation platform for true general-purpose robots, and how Flexiv applies these bio-inspired insights to improve adaptability, precision, and efficiency.

"Nature has spent millions of years honing humans into the pinnacle of evolution, and in the process it's developed systems and methods that are inherently adaptable and robust," said Shuhan. "At Flexiv, we draw inspiration from evolution to design robots that are not only capable but resilient in ways traditional engineering alone cannot achieve."

Established in 1988, the IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems is among the largest and most influential gatherings in the field of robotics and intelligent machines. Co-sponsored by the IEEE and the Robotics Society of Japan (RSJ), IROS serves as a global platform for researchers, innovators, and industry leaders to exchange ideas and showcase cutting-edge advancements.

As a cornerstone of China's "Silicon Valley," Hangzhou provides an ideal setting for IROS 2025. With China accounting for more than half of all new industrial robot installations worldwide, the conference offers unparalleled visibility and opportunity for Flexiv to strengthen global collaboration and accelerate progress toward a future where human-inspired adaptive robots transform industries worldwide.
